You know what's funny... people still say he wasn't running... he was using superior ring generalship to move about the ring. When your opponent literally has to sprint to get to you after you move away, unless you're freaking goku and can walk at the speed of light, then you're running.

It is crazy when they call fighters like Vitaly(sometimes he is) and Floyd runners. Khan actually turns his back, ass and elbows style.

This is why Khan should be careful about lowballing good fighters and disrespecting them in negotiations.

Khan made Peterson a pathetic offer for a voluntary defense. Gave everyone the old "nobody knows you, I'm the champ and you should feel lucky to be considered".

Peterson believed he was going to become mandatory and get his fair share in a purse bid and passed on it. Turned out to be a genius decision that has paid off to the tune of millions.

You have to think of how Peterson felt when Khan offered him peanuts and told him he wasn't ****. Now the shoe is on the other foot and people expect Peterson to just walk into the room and sign to fight Khan with anything other than some one sided terms like Khan tried to impose on him.

Khan is not his mandatory. Peterson is in no way obligated to fight Khan, and Khan brings no title to the table, which means he can, and most likely will, go another direction.
