hahaha please fight in May, the 24/7 would be epic with all the drama, it would be hilarious if the prison allowed 24/7 cameras in LOL.. guaranteed to generate huge numbers. And he can do the Gorilla dogs chant with a band of convicted felons.
So is Floyd still on with May 5th, 2012 ???

theres no way he does the entire sentence, you have time served and getting out early for good behavior. he will do half the time or lessI can't see how he does a May 5th fight at this point. He’s supposed to report to custody January 6th and if he serves the entire time, without a few weeks trimmed off for "good behavior" he'll be out in April. Floyd needs at least six months to promote a fight and two months to train, how the hell could he possibly do it properly?
His only hope is that his lawyers pull some amazing legal maneuver which probably wouldn't work given the judges words during sentencing.Comment

I would bet he's out by the end of February or early march with behavioral credit and possible work time credit. You figure he would serve approx. 2/3 credit. For every two days he actually serves he gets credit for three. With that equation, he would only serve, at most, 60 out of his 90 day sentence.
I don't believe Nevada does 1:1 sentencing, and even if it did, he would serve 45 days.
However, using the 2/3 formula, it would mean that he could be out by the first week of March, and it could be earlier if he does work in jail. This would earn him further credit towards an earlier release by a few days.
Is it enough to promote a megafight? I personally don't think so. Although the whole world knows who these two fighters are they want to hear the drama, see the fighters before the fight. There's not enough time to do this. It would be inevitable to avoid the jail stint as part of the promotion, but it shouldn't be actively used as it would be disrespectful towards the main event in general.
Let him get out, and use his release as a means to aggressively do negotiations.Last edited by 1nonlymre; 12-22-2011, 09:53 AM.Comment

They said several weeks could get cut off for good behavior, meaning he'll probably do around 6-7 weeks tops, meaning he could get out in early March, you never know. Just my guess, but I don't think Floyd thought he'd get 3 months, and I don't think anyone else did. At least the Pac fans can come out of the wood-work again and say "Haha Floyd is going to jail, don't drop the soap, haha. He can't fight now", as if they've been saved by the fact that Floyd is going to jail for 2-3 months and how it's going to ruin him. It's funny, but hey....at least they have a legit reason for Bob Arum to not make the fight now.Still scheduled at this point and he gets out in early April. Floyd still could promote a good fight for himself even though he gets out of county jail a month before May 5 2012. I'd imagine he would stay in shape in county but wondering if he is willing to only do a month of sparring unless there is sparring partners in county?
Maybe he schedules a fight for the summer?Comment

They promoted Mayweather-Ortiz for about 3 months and he trained starting the end of July. If Floyd gout out for good behavior in Late FEB/ Early MAR, it could be enough time to promote, who knows.I can't see how he does a May 5th fight at this point. He’s supposed to report to custody January 6th and if he serves the entire time, without a few weeks trimmed off for "good behavior" he'll be out in April. But, the Floyd haters are relieved at this point. They can all come out and say "See! May 5th was a bad date, a fake date", as if Floyd knew he'd get 3 months in jail, so he falsely put out the May 5th date, knowing he'd go to jail for at least 3 months. I doubt Floyd thought he'd get 3 months, and I doubt he serves all 3 months, probably 2 at the tops.Comment
