So is Floyd still on with May 5th, 2012 ???

Still scheduled at this point and he gets out in early April. Floyd still could promote a good fight for himself even though he gets out of county jail a month before May 5 2012. I'd imagine he would stay in shape in county but wondering if he is willing to only do a month of sparring unless there is sparring partners in county?

Maybe he schedules a fight for the summer?

If it was confirmed, who was the opponent? If a fight is made, you have to have an opponent, right?

Who was the fight with? Were there contracts signed and a fight lined up?

Like i said, it was an assumption that there would be a fight on May 5th. Its one thing to say you'll fight on May 5th and then theres another thing to actually have a fight lined up on May 5th.

Floyd won't have any trouble fighting May 5 if he wants to. He got sentenced to 90 days, but he'll be released well before the 90 days is up. There will be plenty of time to promote the fight and train, assuming the opponent is not Pacquiao. Realistically, the winner of Berto-Ortiz is the right opponent if Floyd really wants May 5.

If the Mayweather-Pacquiao deal is somehow made, I bet they'll hold off until September.

I can't see how he does a May 5th fight at this point. He’s supposed to report to custody January 6th and if he serves the entire time, without a few weeks trimmed off for "good behavior" he'll be out in April. Floyd needs at least six months to promote a fight and two months to train, how the hell could he possibly do it properly?

His only hope is that his lawyers pull some amazing legal maneuver which probably wouldn't work given the judges words during sentencing.

Guys, Floyd might just do a little over a month. Probably a month and a couple of weeks. He could still fight in the summer.
