Former champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero received some bad news on Wednesday, when Floyd Mayweather Jr. was sentenced to 90-days in jail. The boxer was sentenced in a Las Vegas court in connection with a domestic confrontation with the mother of his three children. Mayweather was ordered to begin his sentence on January 6th. Based on the sentence, it appears the boxer's planned return for May 5th is in jeopardy - unless he gets out much earlier than expected. Mayweather has the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on hold for May 5th, and Guerrero has been campaigning hard to secure the Cinco De Mayo showdown.

So Guerrero, this gives you a bit of time to actually fight a few WWs before you attempt to take on Floyd. How else do you expect everyone to accept the credibility that this fight should take place?

I think Guerrero's take on this is that if Floyd is willing to fight a Marquez, Hatton and Ortiz who either never fought at WW or barely did then Guerrero is the perfect opponent for Floyd.

What else is Guerrero going to say? He wants a payday with Mayweather. It IS a less risky road that rescheduling his fight with Marcos Maidana, Guerrero cancelled, claiming a tore rotator cuff. NOBODY wants to fight Maidana. Mayweather took Ortiz after Maidana destroyed him in 6. Guerrero cancelled his Maidana appointment claiming injury, and has since talked about fight everyone in Boxing EXCEPT Maidana. MAYWEATHER ON THE OTHER HAND, has never been able to stay out of trouble. Should be sharing a bunk with OJ Simpson there in a Nevada jail for the next 90 days, and if this doesn't get Mayweather's attention, the next time he gets in trouble, he'll be gone for years, and the Boxing career will come to a close. He's never proven to be too smart; consider a guy that's made $200M/$300M in Boxing and he can't stay out of trouble, beating up on a girlfriend like Uncle Roger does.
