But, but, are you absolutely SURE that Bute doesn't need to go up in weight and fight a Top 3 rated LHW before he can be worthy of challenging for the SMW Championship? I was sure that's how it works? If not, how could I possibly have been so wrong?

Bute has been fighting cans while Ward has been on a 2-year quest fighting the very best opponents available. How about Bute fight someone like Kessler or Andre Dirrell before he takes on Ward?

Ward can take an easy fight in the meantime. He deserves it.

I don't personally object if Ward and Bute fight different guys before they fight each other. If that's the way it ends up working out, so be it.

The question is, who should Andre Ward fight next if we're talking about the best qualified guy in his weight class? Would you agree that Bute is the best, most accomplished, most proven of the relevant guys at 168 whom Ward has not yet fought/beaten?

BTW, I just heard that Froch was declared shot after his war to end all wars with Glen Johnson (those two guys ruined each other, apparently, which is also why Bute was able to beat Johnson with such ease), so he doesn't count as a top opponent for Ward. That would mean that the qualitative difference between Ward's CV and Bute's CV is a win over Kessler, no?

And wasn't Kessler past-it and ****ty and blind after being beaten to a gelatinous pulp by Joe Calzaghe, anyway? Yeah, that's what I heard. **** it, he's not a good win for Ward, either. Looks like Bute and Ward have equal résumés now - fight's on!

But, IMO people would give him more credit for beating Froch then they would for beating Hopkins. And, lets be honest Bute is not going to dominate B-Hop. Because, B-hop is too smart either he would be competitive or he will fake low blows to get breathers hit behind the head roll around on the ground and just make it ugly. Calzaghe didn't really get that much credit beating B-Hop and that was a few years ago imagine now? The only good thing that would come out if he beat Hopkins. Is that it's that he would be prepared for Ward style a little bit better

I don't mind a Cloud fight. I think Cloud needs it more than Bute. So that's a good fight. Because, Cloud as much as I like him hasn't done a damn thing really. He has had a senior citizen tour, fights once a year. And, also fights guy coming off of losses same thing you criticize Bute for. But, I'm all for that fight as well. I think it's just as good as the Froch fight.

I'm pretty sure he didn't say that Bute needs to fight Cloud to warrant a fight with Ward.

Maybe he can rejoin the thread and correct me, if necessary.

He also said "might", which implies speculation. And if he might be shopworn, slowing down and feeling the combined effects of his age and schedule this week, it's probable that he might have been shopworn, slowing down and feeling the combined effects of his age and schedule last week, too, before he fought Ward. So, if Froch wouldn't be a quality win for Bute, he's not a quality win for Ward. Ward's CV takes a hit, so sayeth BoxingGenius27. Thanks for clearing that up.

Your posts are mind-numbingly dumb, man. I've never really read you before tonight, but I'm guessing this is your standard method for getting along in debate here. Just dribble mind-numbing doggerel over and over until the other guy loses IQ points and walks away in fear of becoming a drooling ****** if he reads any more.

I thought my post was very clear?

I said Froch might be shopworn...I do not know if he is or not. It's just speculation...Can't really know until I see his next fight(s).

I also said that I wouldn't be oppose to a Bute-Cloud. But, that Cloud needed that fight more so than Bute did.

That has nothing that a Ward-Bute fight. As long as both are the top 2 in the division is a must for 2012....It doesn't have to be Ward next fight. Ward can have a gimme he deserves it. But, to say that Bute isn't deserving or that Ward should just sit out is completely ridiculous.
