well for his other fights his purses were similarly listed with the NSAC at much less than what he was gauranteed. He was gauranteed 20 million, but his purse was listed as 6. Reason's could be for minimising tax or the money they are required to pay Golden Boy over that disputed contract with Pac a few years ago if it still counts. Arum is one sly cat and knows a lot of tricks when it comes to money.

The NSAC only list down the fighter's guaranteed purse. It doesnt reflect the true income how much a PPV fighter makes.

So Pac can put 600,000 there but that doesnt reflect his true income on the fight.. In fact, it actually minimizes his expenses since the percentage of the trainers, managers, training team are all based on the guaranteed purse..

The only benefit of having a guaranteed purse is if the fight didnt sell. So irregardless he would get what is specified on the purse..But for a fighter like Pac.. his PPV had never been below 1 Million (except for Clottey) since he fought DLH...

Why do you guys think Manny extended his contract with Top Rank right before the 3rd Marquez fight instead of letting his contract expire? On top of that, he fired that firm Visionqwest despite them finding out Top Rank and company were stealing large amounts of money from him.
He fired that company because they went public with his private business on Mayweather's nuthugging site, FightHype, which was the genesis of all these rumors.

What if he'd left Top Rank before they turned him from a 200-350K PPV attraction into the record breaking four consecutive years with a 1M+ PPV megastar? Fool, Top Rank made him the megastar he is and turned his paydays into 8 figures with the fights they put him in and with all their hype

How is he going to maximise his profits when he doesn't know what the **** he's doing and with so much on his plate outside of boxing? He'll have to buy out his contract and sign with another promoter looking to milk him, what's the point?

The contract with Golden Boy is finished since last year.. This is because Pac signed a 4 year contract with Golden Boy promotions (before switching to Top Rank), and that was late 2006 before the 3rd Morales fight.. And besides Golden Boy does not get anything from Top Rank and Pac if he is fighting a non-GB fighter.. So Goldenboy did not get one cent from his fights against Clottey, Cotto, Marg, Mosley, and Marquez.

What stuck out to me is that there was a guy named Cassius Clay on the undercard

That's not why he fired them. If that were the case, he would have fired his trainer, Freddie Roach that said he had money problems in the public WAAAYY before the VisionQuest thing was brought to the light. Actually, they loaned Manny some bread...then when he fired them, they chose to sue him in return.

No,no. The deal was if Pac fought a Golden Boy fighter Golden Boy would do the accounting for the fight, if Pac fought a Top Rank fighter Top Rank would do the accounting. Maybe part of the reason Top Rank had Pac in all these inhouse fights.

In any case, Golden Boy did get something out of those fights, and Arum knew how to minimise what they got, and Pac's much lower listed purses with the commissions probably had a lot to do with that. Golden Boy even took him to court to challenge those numbers seeing dicreptancies compared to the Marquez, DLH and Hatton fights. Example, he was listed as getting 7.5 million for Cotto, 12 million for Hatton with Keith Kizer and the NSAC.

You're probably right that the disputed contract relating to that court order ended last year, it was only a four or five fight deal from memory. Relating to this current issue, Arum is probably just continuing on with what worked during the GBP war, minimising tax as much as possible with the lower purse and Pac's gaurantee might be listed as bonuses or whatever

You can see that the Politician from Sarangani Province is quite dim.
He was offered a chance to make $50m fighting Mayweather,he chose Clottey for $7.5m.
                  It's not funny,it's sad

Yes you are right.. When involving a Pac vs Goldenboy fighter, Top Rank and Golden Boy will co-promote. While if its Top Rank, it will be a Top Rank as the lead promoter, with Golden Boy receiving interest on the fight, which means the accounting will be handled by Top Rank, with TR paying GB a certain interest from the fight. All of which will be coming from Top Rank's share, and not Pac.

That is why there was a lawsuit by Goldenboy last year because Top Rank was understating the endorsement and sponsorship money, while over stating the expenses on Pac's fight against Cotto, Clottey and Diaz..

Yep, you know more about it than I do. I'm thinking that extra money Arum was not accounting for could've been part of the money going to Pac to cover his gaurantee
