To beat Floyd, you gotta kind of bum rush him--throw his phenomenal timing off a bit. In theory a really good counter-puncher shouldn't be that hard to beat: put aaalllloooooottt pressure on him, don't let up for 12rds and you got the fight won. The key is to keep constant pressure on--aka, back up against the ropes, if you let Floyd settle into a groove, especially in the center of the ring, he'll murder you--the ball's no longer in your court, your fighting his fight now.
There is always an antidote. Sure, smart consistent pressure and combinations are the key to beating a pure boxer.....

Remember when Freddie Roach recently slammed the trainers of all of Donaire's recent opponents..... because all of their fighters had been knocked out by the same punch, Nonito's left hook?

Get real Freddie, everyone knows about the hook.

Knowing about it is one thing, dealing with it is another.

The key to Mayweather's game is controlling the distance, which allows him to dictate the pace and control how the fight unfolds with his adjustments.

Asking a pressure fighter why he cant close the distance on Mayweather would be like asking Roach what happened with Marquez.

LOL, you're right, I never said it was gonna be easy,,,but at least you kind of agree with me a bit.. A fighter really on have to options with Floyd, 1) Either try their hardest to close the distance or 2) Try their luck at boxing with him. It's number 2 that normally get most fighters in trouble--i.e., Shane, Marquez, etc.
