When was the last time Floyd fought a real threat?

3rd best of a division doesn't mean you are ready to fight # 1 & 2. Look at the HW division. If you are a cruiser-weight that struggled at cruiser-weight and you then move up and beat the number 3 HW in your only fight at HW, does that mean you are now ready for # 1 & 2 (Klitschkos)?
By the way, you are actually agreeing with me (not those who I disagreed) in that Ortiz was not a REAL threat. By your own admission, you thought that Ortiz had no chance.
The disagreement that I had is that Ortiz needed to take on more fights at 147 and Ortiz still needed to grow as a fighter before taking on a Floyd level fighter. That was not the case therefore making it more disadvantageous for Ortiz.Last edited by ADP02; 12-20-2011, 10:17 PM.Comment

Even with Mayweather being 34 and inactive, I didn't view Ortiz as a threat.
Which I guess shows you how little I think of the young crop of talent (Ortiz, Berto, Khan) relative to the Mayweathers and Pacquiaos of the world. Ortiz is a good fighter in a poor era, while Mayweather is an ATG.
Going into their fights, I saw Mosley, DLH, Hatton, hell even Judah, as more genuine threats than Ortiz.Last edited by Thread Stealer; 12-20-2011, 10:26 PM.Comment

This post has so much irony its not even funny. The guy in your avi just fought Marquez this past November and LOST in many peoples eyes yet you want to criticize the guy that easily handled Marquez? If Oscar was shot to **** than Mosley was practically a dead man when Pacquiao fought him. Oscar was younger than Floyd is now and had control over all of the fight stipulations. The bias you guys have is insane.Well, for an instance. None of them are considered a great fighter or HOF fighter at least by the time or in that weight category when Floyd fought them. The only two notable HOF fighters were Marquez and Oscar. But we all know Marquez is a lightweight who never fought at light welterweight let alone at welterweight and Oscar was already shot to pieces, past his prime.Comment

No bias just stating the facts. obviously you did not read the post I was replying too. How can a guy say Oscar at 34 was shot and act like Mosley at 39 was fresh? How can you say Marquez was too small to compete at welterweight in 2009 then turn around and act like he was prime at that weight in 2011? Bias is how.Comment
