Nope Floyd is, in fact I am willing to bet that 147lb Floyd could handle 168 Ward.

No, Ward isn't the best American fighter. I'm a Ward fan and a fan of all boxers that slip punches rather than take them squarely to the head but that doesn't mean he should be rushed to the top of the heap. I think it's funny how so many folks are in a rush to get passed the best fighter in the world, Floyd Mayweather in order to anoint someone else. Imho it would be more instructive to wait a week a two for the furor of a big fight to die down before making pronouncements like this.

Floyd Mayweather is by far and away the best American fighter.

I'm certain there's another American fighter out there who's quite good.

Why is Floyd name in this thread? He might be the Most skilled American fighter but let's face it you Are only as good as ur opposition .... Ward has fought the tops guys @ 168 excluding bute who has been fighting the b and c fighter in the division.. Name another American fighter doing that....maybe a few of the top guys can learn from Andre.... Fight the best

He probably will be the best at some point but I wouldn't say that it is right now, even if you want to put him on a level with Floyd you can't say he is out and out better currently.

Time favors Ward though, so saying it now is probably a good call.

I was talking about Deontay Wilder.
