Wht all the hate? Martinez is just trying to get paid. He had a huge 2010 and now he can't get the big money fights he deserves. I think he should just forget about Pac and go after Floyd, Cotto, and JCC Jr. Those are the most lucrative fights for him right now. He could also fight Canelo or rematch Margarito.

cotto won't shake his hand let alone give him a fight. pacquiao is too small, he should forget about him. hopefully the wbc strips chavez and makes martinez/rubio for the belt. that'd be the perfect solution to all this. from there, possible unifications at MW can happen if anything.

He's right though. Honestly I don't see anyone at 154 or 160 that can beat Sergio Martinez. To me he is indeed the real deal skill wise. I see a fight with him and Floyd being very competitive in my opinion. Pac got served by a fighter he was supposed to breeze through because of age and weight but Marquez held his own and exposed Pac for not being "new and improved" so his team kept screaming about. I think Freddie roach really thought Marquez was done at the 144 catch weight because of what Floyd did to him there and that's why they took the fight because when has Marquez ever been an easy fight for Pac? Also, he is right about casusal boxing fans being caught up more in a name then the fighter itself. Just look at the Khan/Peterson fight. Lamont clearly won but since Khan had the name it became a controversy and the same goes for Pac/Marquez 3. I want Sergio Martinez to fight Pirog but I guarantee that kid is getting KO'd and once Sergio does that then Pirog will become another fighter that wasn't any good because Martinez beat him. Sergei was a solid fighter. Had a razor jab, never been knocked down in and out of the pros and was undefeated. I see mad haters on here and lil to know true boxing fans.

That 40 yr old was the king of the division and The Ring champion at the time. Not to mention, Marquez then defended against two prime fighters, Juan Diaz(2x) and Michael Katsidis, stopping both! Don't try to discredit Marquez's lightweight run.
