The stoppage was a tad premature but I've seen a lot worse. Mr Tolan was outclassed & would have just shipped a load of punishment - that much was obvious from the outset.

I feel sorry for him (pride-wise) but if a fast, powerful boxer is landing a flurry of blows to the head the Ref makes a decision. Given Tommy's history is may have been early but the Ref has to make a split second decision.
