Yes, kinda like he did with Berto

He is right though, that is exactly what Arum is doing.
Chavez Jr-Martinez is for the good of boxing?

To try set up a big mismatch?

Sergio should not be chasing Chavez

Call me a cynic, but what DiBella is doing doesn't appear to be for the good of the sport, but more so for the good of his wallet.

Him and Martinez get a nice cheque in order to not pursue Chavez, and so we continue with a paper champ fighting Manfredo-level opposition while Martinez is unable to advance his career or even get back a title he should never have lost.

As bad as the WBC are, for once they actually did the right thing, but it doesn't matter because if DiBella can't get the fight, he'd rather have the cash than the title. When he was calling for the WBC to mandate a Martinez vs Jr fight, he wasn't doing it because of caring about the sport, the integrity of the world title or anything like that. He just wanted a pay-off.

DiBella isn't showing himself to be any better than Arum, he just has less power and so it sometimes seems that way. But just like Arum he is having his main guy have an in-house fight against Macklin rather than face the best possible opponent in Pirog. After that I expect an in-house fight against Andy Lee. And he put on one BS fight after another when Berto had a belt just like Arum is doing with Chavez.

Martinez is not a young man and at this rate will be past-prime before he gets the kind of fight(s) that he wants. Not that I'm saying Macklin and Lee aren't good but they aren't a major notch on his belt and won't put him closer to a big fight with May/Pac/Cotto.

Pirog has been willing to defend his WBO belt for over a year Lou. Why do you only want to fight Chavez who didn't even win against Zbik to get the title?

JCC JR calls the shots. Not Lou DiBella.

Exactly, why the willingness, to grab that WBC belt, but not his WBO's?

Sergio just wants a big name to get exposure and a decent payday. Is that so wrong? Who else is he gonna fight? And dont say Pirog cause outside diehard fans no one knows him and he hasnt done anything since getting his title

Plus Sergio is the "super champion" for the WBC and gets first crack at current champion and Lou is probably upset that the WBC is not honoring their agreement and letting Arum control everything.
