Comments Thread For: Bute Not Impressed With Froch: I'll Fight Ward in NYC

IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs) has no problem with traveling over to the United States to face WBA/WBC champion Andre Ward (25-0, 13KOs) to settle the issue as to which of them is the best boxer at 168-pounds. The unbeaten boxer is not impressed with Carl Froch, who did a lot of trash talking about Bute in the last couple of weeks. Bute sat ringside at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, and watched Ward secure a dominating twelve round unanimous decision over Froch.

With Ward's win last night Bute is no longer the guy to beat. He will have to negotiate on Ward's terms and Ward is not going to fight him in Canada. So somewhere in America it is.

Ward's lack of power really might hurt him against Bute. He loses his speed advantage and his jab isn't going to be as effective against a southpaw. What a great fight that would be.

Final of the Super Six World Boxing Classic attendance : 5,626
$$$ : Ward made $900,000, and Froch, $600,000, plus some cash from British television.

Why should Bute fight in the US?
He attracts more people and make more money fighting tomato cans in Montreal.

I'm just afraid that Ward will ask for too much money to fight for a fight that won't even sold in the US.

Ward is the champ. Bute is the one with something to prove. Ward isn't going into Bute's backyard and he shouldn't have to.

Ward is going to out box Bute, and Froch can KO Bute out. Remember Andrade

Ward just like B-Hop is always going to be the B side of a big fight nothing wrong with that. Just do what is best for the sport and for both fighters and go to where the fight will draw and make as much money as possible.

I a not singling anybody out Ward he is one of my favorites as you can see below. This is a boxing problem, unless its a mega fight neutral locations are pointless

I agree it's best for the sport for fights to be held in the best markets. The only problem with that is that Ward won't get a fair shake in Canada, and he knows it. That's why it won't happen.
