Maskaev's got bad nerves, he's gulping hard during the anthems, the lot. Sam's a much underrated boxer and I pick him to take this.
Sam vs. Maskaev - live commentary by The Anorak

Tentative but effective start from Maskaev as he feels out his man. Sam seems to be trying to force a slug match (last twenty seconds are all-out, with Maskaev losing his footing slightly which may have cost him the round) but Oleg has a clear superiority in handspeed and power.
10-9 Maskaev on my card.Comment

Sam warned for (unintentionally, I feel) hitting behind (at the side, really) of the head just before the bell.
Again, Maskaev edged this one for me - they're close rounds - but by wilfully allowing Samil Sam to back him up and give up ring centre for the majority of the rounds he'll be getting no favours from the judges.Comment

Sam has one of the best - and most simplistic - defences I've seen, so it's to Maskaev's credit he's penetrating it with regularity and rocked Sam at least three times.
Sam has the power to trouble Maskaev, but I think Oleg will score the KO in the next three rounds. 10-9 Maskaev.Comment
