Unfortunately, there are a lot of people on boxingscene that render a fighter as a "hypejob" simply because of a loss, without taking into account the circumstances of that loss. In this case, it was a very close fight. By their logic, if Khan is a hypejob, then Peterson is just as bad for having struggling to get past a "hypejob".
Peterson is underrated. A lot of posters here can't give credit to a fighter without insulting the other.
I disagree with pretty much everyone here.
PETERSON, is the guy who was under-rated, despite the comments from Team Khan leading into that fight.
Their lip service sounded like they regarded Peterson as a genuine threat, but the fact that they did not see fit to include a rematch clause in the contract, tells another story.
Khan was over-rated by everyone, including his own team.
He will beat Peterson easy, and will soon be ready for Mayweather ?
That is over-rated bro.
Peterson was under-rated, Khan was over-rated, and now we know whats up..... there aint much between those guys..... although I got Khan in a rematch.
You mean someone else also brought a suitcase for the ref/judge? Uncle Bob set it up in the back of a hotel 69 with another suitcase of $$$ and will sign with Lamont for it. I smell a conspirarcy a la Jesse Ventura.
I don't know which one was worse this one or the first Mares-Agbecko
So you are saying if Khan had not pushed as much as he did (along with the head holding/pushing down)......they were gonna figure out how to take 2 points from him anyway?
The only way this would have been as bad as the first Mares-Agbeko fight is if the ref did not penalize Khan for all of the illegal tactics he was using to control the fight.
The fight was Saturday and today being Monday and after many many posts including mine......the song remains the same. KAHN LOST!
Is it not time for all of us to move on?
I don't see why there are people so ready to dismiss fighters as overrated and hypejobs. If anything Petersen was underrated. Khan's a great fighter. Because he has a tough fight with a very qualified opponent doesn't mean he's a hype job.
I thought Khan won a close decision. I could kind of see deducting for the pushing once, but I thought doing it twice was dubious. But it was a great close fight. It was one of the best fights I saw in a long time. So I'm applauding both men not pulling the hypejob card.
