Would Steve Smoger/Kenny Bayless have deducted 2 points?

    Simple question really

Smoger and Bayless are recognised by most as two of the best refs in the sport. Would Steve Smoger/Kenny Bayless have deducted 2 points from Amir?

Bayless would of said something like...

Question is, would Khan have fouled that much if such intimidating refs' were in the ring with him? I don't think so. Khan tried to take advantage of the situation, and in return got what was coming to him.

they certainly wouldn't have taken the second point, that's for sure. A good, experienced ref understands the situation and they would definitely know it's a very close fight, in the championship rounds and it's any mans fight. They would know a point deduction at that point could change the outcome of the fight, which it did last night.

You simply don't take points away at a time like that, unless it is extremely blatant like a nasty headbutt or low blow. Otherwise you just gotta let the men fight.

Wrong. You watched in on TV with a biased HBO staff talking over the ref's warnings. The ref stopped the action TWICE to tell Amir to stop pushing and using his forearms.

bayless wouldnt of been so involved in the outcome of the fight. this referee was involved way to much, which is why everyone is talking about him the next day.

The ref was pretty uninvolved in the fight for the amount of stuff that was going on.

he made them fight out of clinches. The only times he threw himself in the middle was when khan resorted to headlocks and such to draw his attention.

Maybe 1, but no way the second especially with so much on the line. I see fighters push off all the time. Peterson was also pushing to keep Khan on the ropes and was never warned. I watched Cotto push Margarito off him all fight long. Floyd pushes off with his elbows every fight. It's one of those rules in boxing that never gets called.

Peterson definitely garza home biased referee, after the second deduction Khan had no chance!
