POLL: Was the Khan vs Peterson Ref in the wrong?

Im in agreement the ref was entitled to take those points off of Khan and once he had made the stand of not tolerating the infringement then Khan should have wised up and knocked it off....

However many on here disagree and some of them i respect as posters so lets put it to a vote

Was the Ref right or wrong to deduct - YES or NO?

He was in the right. He gave plenty enough warnings, and while he should have given one stern warning at some point, six or so clear warnings was enough to justify taking a point.

he was very fussy at times but he gave Khan plenty of warnings and after he deducted a point Khan shouldve realised he couldnt push Peterson away.

U have to adjust to the ref.

I like refs like that, he didnt split them up as soon as they came together and told them to work out of it. Maybe Im biased being a Hatton fan but thats the way it should be imo!

Khan's complete lack of an inside game was shown up for all to see, he was clueless as to what to do and the only thing he could think of was to push Peterson away

He did give a stern warning.

He said "Last warning, stop pushing" in either the 6th or 7th round

he was too involved. everyones talking about the ref, tells its own story. If it was Kenny Bayless, he wouldnt of been so involved. ref ruined a great world championship fight.

He counted a KD after Peterson was pushed down by an elbow blow of Khan. That was a wrong call.

When he took away point from Khan that made it fair.

The additional point taken away probably was too much, but technically it was probably an ok decision.

It wasn't a great performance by the ref. But, I liked that he let them fight inside.

But as for the point deductions, Khan can't complain about them.

The ref warned him numerous times, over and over again. And he kept doing it, so of course, he got a point deducted.

Then, after getting a point deducted, he continued to blatently do it over and over again.

If you're ****** enough to carry on doing something in such blatent fashion after having a point deducted then you should expect another one to be taken.

Personally I think he could have handeled things much better like I've said before I cant remember actually watching a fight where a fighter was deducted points for pushing. I understand that he gave sufficient warning but the warnings were unnecessary IMO and he should have used more discretion. Lamont was also going low and pushing Khan against the ropes but didn't recieve any warnings so double standards are clear to see.

I dont think it was a dirty fight stuff like this happen in every fight and the majority of refs are happy to let things go on.

He was right to take a point away but he did it for the wrong foul. I got no problem with pushing but pulling your opponent's head down as a form of defense after your flurries? That shit definitely deserved a point deduction. Also Khan deserved to lose a point for hitting Peterson on the break in 12th but once again the ref called the wrong foul.
