By 2013, I think Chavez Jr will be better than Canelo!

I've always said this. And being promoted by Top Rank, I can see Jr fighting another 50 bums.
Canelo will still be better than Chavez jr, because of the opposition faced = quality over quantity.

Please, it would take 20 lifetimes for Chavez to get anywhere near becoming a man - let alone a real fighter.

He should get Robert Garcia as his trainer.

I think so as well but then again Canelo is a lot younger and still has a long way to go. Chavez JR looked good in his last fight but honestly it was against an older Manfredo JR. His fight with Zbik was a better fight to judge his skills off of. We will see who he fights next. I think both guys are improving steadily to be honest. Canelo has some stamina issues though I think it will cost him in the long run against better competition.

Would you think I am crazy if I said I think a chavez jr. would beat a canelo right now at 160?

The OP is sorely mistake. Canelo is the younger fighter BUT has equal experience. Canelo has also fought better competition than Jr. (which isn't that hard).

Jr has already or is nearly reaching is maximum potential. Canelo has tapped into a lower percentage of his potential and has a higher ceiling.

Canelo is better today and should be on the incline for another 7-8 years. Chavez jr will be peaking in the next 2-3 years.

The only thing Chavez has over Canelo is that he has a better name.

Judging by their last fights, Chavez Jr has shown improvements. He moves around the ring pretty well, better head movement, and hand speed looks better.

Canelo, on the other hand, looks the same. No head movement what so ever, hand speed is the same, footwork has not changed, still looks a little slow and nothing new in his skill set. Canelo looks predictable now since he relies on his right hand to do everything.

Roach and Ariza are doing a hell of a job with Jr, I think Golden Boy needs to have a talk with Canelo about getting a better trainer or Jr will surpass him in a couple of years.
Canelo's problem is that he beats shot, journeymen fighters with ease and thinks his heavy hands will do the same to Mayweather,Martinez and other better fighters.

Chavez knows his limitations and works hard on bettering himself every fight.

All comes down to Alvarez being ginger and thinking his better than he really is, he got potential but so did Jeff Lacy apparently...........
