By 2013, I think Chavez Jr will be better than Canelo!

First, i wanna say that I think Canelo beats Jr if the fight happened right now. But if the fight happens down the road heres what i see:

Judging by their last fights, Chavez Jr has shown improvements. He moves around the ring pretty well, better head movement, and hand speed looks better.

Canelo, on the other hand, looks the same. No head movement what so ever, hand speed is the same, footwork has not changed, still looks a little slow and nothing new in his skill set. Canelo looks predictable now since he relies on his right hand to do everything.

Roach and Ariza are doing a hell of a job with Jr, I think Golden Boy needs to have a talk with Canelo about getting a better trainer or Jr will surpass him in a couple of years.

No he won't, he just doesn't have the talent and has the athletic ability of the average joe.

to me chavez jr is at his peak and he has fought nowhere near the level of opposition canelo has. zbik being jr's best win which many people thought he lost

canelo has fought top 10 opposition and has mostly impressed against the likes of rhodes, cintron and to a certain extent with baldomir (even though he had been inactive). he has stopped them all but has looked less impressive in doing so

unless canelo is being matched with championship level opposition in the near future, which is a good possibility, he will likely wear his body out and will have to retire at an early age like barrera and morales (who has recently revived his career but still has a lot of questions to answer)

if chavez jr fights martinez he will likely get the beating of a lifetime and seeing as he's still young panda cant see him being succesful at the higher weight classes. if arum really entices cotto to fight jr panda sees cotto beating him up en route to a decision win

to be concise, jr is too easy to be hit and although roach is a great offensive coach panda cant see him improve on his defense which will hurt his career in the long run

Yeah using his jab better will give him that but it doesn't seem to last when he has done it and he has a tendency to want to slug it out.

In 2013 Chavez Jr will still be fighting tomatoe cans. What a FRAUD. With his current record, would we be talking about him if he didn't have a famous last name?

True, I do agree that Canelo has faced the tougher opposition. But Canelo has looked a little too patient to the point of making his fight a little boring, and on the other hand Jr had a fan friendly style against Manfredo.
Cintron is better than Manfredo, so that may be why.

I've always said this. And being promoted by Top Rank, I can see Jr fighting another 50 bums.
