Lamon Brewster vs. James Toney - who wins?

As I said in this thread, the next heavyweight title fight Don King is organising is James Toney vs. Lamon Brewster in February.

I think that if Toney can avoid getting knocked out then he'll have shown enough skill along the way to get a points win.

However, I can't see his punch troubling Brewster other than decisioning him, and has even Toney the chin to face a proper heavy like Brewster?

    What say you?

I think once Toney starts nailing Brewster off the ropes, Brewster's punch output will drop alot, with only spurts throughout the fight. Toney may even get a stoppage by Brewster's corner or the ref, but either way I think Toney will get it.

        hmm

Brewtser can win this fight with shocking ease if he doesn't do his Kali Meehan trip. He needs to be mad like vs Golota and viscious like vs Krasniqi and he will make Toney wilt.

Brewster far out-strengths Toney and has dynamite power. Brewster is also in his prime. Toney is not, and Toney doesn't use much footwork. He'll be there all day for Brew to **** on.

Do you reckon Roy Jones could take Brewster's best shot, S_L?

I'm just ****in' around! Brewster would be like a bull in a china shop...

If Brewster rushes Toney like he did to Golota, he KO's him in 1. If he decides to box him, he loses.

A fighter who comes straight at Toney is asking to be countered on all night long...

I may have to retract my "easily" statement but I just dont see Brewster going balls to the wall to make it super difficult the way Vassily Jirov did...if Brewster does it will be close then I initially stated but I still cant pick against Toney.

I really hope this fight happens.

If Showtime opens the year with Mormeck-Bell in Jan, Toney-Brewster in Feb and Lacy-Calzaghe in March it will be very tough for HBO to keep up.

James Toney ko'd in 1 round?

Godzilla could bum rush Toeny and it would take longer then 1 round.

                    hmm

I just don't think Toney can deal with Brew if he comes at him and ****s away. Toney uses head movement, and most his idiotic opponents try to take his head off, which dumb. Jirov went to the body and had loads of success and still not enough to win. Brew is bigger and Toney's counter shots will land but will not impede or hurt Brew the way they did certain other fighters.
