I would agree about Ruddock but Mercer was the equivalent to Areolla today and Morrison I never thought much of just because he beat a what 50 year old Foreman.

Morison was a good test. not shi.t but he would show some weaknesses if you didn't show up. Areolla i hope he get's his act together... dude could be really decent...bridging upon great... buuuut he has to get the athletic side of himself on par. He treats his body like a garbage dump.

Exactly, if it were in a different HW era, guys like Arreola and Chambers would be considered worthy and respected challengers (if the HW champ was only, say, 6'3 tall and didn't have Vitali's immense workrate). Their dominance makes the division seem weak when there are actually good fighters around that would stand decent chances in a different era but get crushed by Wlad or Vitali. In a different era, it would be possible to outbox the champ or win more than 1 round against him or hope for him to come into the fight out of shape or distracted with private problems (e.g. Tyson).
