I totally disagree. Because If the Klit bros happened to be Italian boys from Brooklyn, NY or farm boys from Nebraska they would be beyond popular in the USA. There would be parades in their honor and they would have keys to most American cities. They would be all over late night talk shows and also have honorary degrees, see Mike Tyson, from numerous US colleges and universities. But what the hell they are pretty popular in Europe and regardless who they fight they draw huge crowds and make millions of dollars in the process. And Wlad may fight safety first and get a little boring. However, one word that I don't think anyone with even an ounce of knowledge about the sport of boxing would associate with him, or Vitali, would be sloppy.

With all due respect, that last paragraph is the ******est bit of reasoning I've heard yet. East Asia is closer than Germany.....lmao, nobody in their right mind gives a shit or even considers that. Stop grasping at straws.
It's true. The Philippines ARE closely tied to America historically & there are many immigrants from Asia living in America = many fans in the US. All of Mannys fights happening in the US = huge media coverage, huge fan crowd compared to European based fighters.

This is exactly true. They'd have millions of cheering fans in America and be inspiration for hundreds of thousands of young people and also adults (also because they're heavily involved in charity and don't ruin their reputation with sex or crime scandals). Countless appearances on Letterman, Kimmel, ESPN, etc. I'm sure of it.

No they wouldn't. American fans have gone crazy over non-American fighters before. The simple answer is that the Klitchko's don't have a very exciting style. Technical and efficient, Yes. Exciting, No.

A very good comparison would be Larry Holmes. Excellent HW with great technical skills and a surgeons jab with a long rein as Champion. However he was never that popular because his style wasn't that exciting. Heck he even entered the right FIRST for a fight even though he was the Champion.

Some of the Euro's have to just stop crying about this issue and face the truth.

The point is....so what? I don't speak for all Americans, but I personally never even consider what country is closer. There are tons of immigrants from eastern bloc countries as well...who cares? How I decide who I like and dislike is based on how they fight and their personalities. For all my criticisms I think both brothers are great guys, but their personalities are very bland. They're both good fighters to. I like watching Vitaly, but his comp stinks in my opinion so there is nothing for me to really get excited about. Wlad I just find plain boring. It wouldn't matter where they were from, it just is what it is. My biggest problem is fools who over rate them like they're the next coming of Jesus. They're good fighters, contenders in any era, but it's ridiculous to think they'd be as dominant in any other era when you're basing it on their sorry competition.

Boring because no one can come close to competing with them.. I could understand Wlad's apprehensive style can be a turn-off but Vitali never stops throwing punches in bunches.. is always aggressive & overwhelming... he comes to kick your A$$ .. his intro says it all.. HE TAKES his opponents to hell FROM THE OPENING BELL!

He's a good example when it comes to lack of respect from media & fans alike... but the brothers have POWER.. they knock people out.. Holmes didn't so your comparison in terms of the style of fighting is way off base, except for perhaps the outstanding jabs. You want a boring fighter.. don't get any more sleep inducing than Larry.

Another jimmy nuthugger who follows me wherever i go & advertises for me... keep up the bad work.. son. I rate them accordingly on size.. strength & boxing skills. So Vitali doesn't kick ass for a living? He doesn't enter the ring & his opponents are shivering at the mere sight of him... look at his opponents faces before the bouts.. even your boy LL was shook... Vitali pierced right through him. HAVE some respect for the most dominating fighter of alltime>>> bar none!
