Perhaps. He did that vs Kermit and threw more punches.

If the Ishida fight was not infact a fluke, Molina might be able to take him out even if with his not so impressive power. Plus Molina is a much smarter boxer than Angulo so he won't just stand in front of him to be knocked out.

I just saw the Mike Alvarado fight and I thought Molina won it despite losing on the scorecards. He took a few bombs that looked like it hurt him, but he recovered rather quickly and went back to work like nothing happened.

I'm probably alone in this, but I favor Molina.

        2. Molina won't out work Kirkland. If he tries, this fight won't make it past the 3rd round.

I'm not sure why either of these guys aren't fighting for the title, just as I'm not sure why this fight is even taking place. Kirk will destroy Molina.

But hey, a lot of guys on boxingscene want to see this fight, so cheers.
Because these are the LMW champions:

Miguel Cotto: He's trying to fight Chavez Jr or Floyd Mayweather Jr, he's not going to fight Molina or Kirkland.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez: Over protected by the WBC and de la Hoya. He was going to fight the winner of Angulo vs Kirkland, but then Sulaiman said that since Kirkland wasn't ranked that high in the LMW division that fight wasn't that likely to happen.

Austin Trout: He's fighting bums, nothing more to say.

K9: He's doing nothing to fight high profile opponents lately.

On paper this says Kirkland by KO all the way

          BUT...................

Let's remember that Kirkland was hurt by feather fisted Ishida. Don't be so sure that Molina can't hurt him and his work rate is better than Angulo's.

Also, Molina can fight a few different ways, he's not a great boxer but he just doesn't know forward like Angulo.

We will see, I think it will be interesting if Molina can avoid the huge shots in the beginning of the fight.

One thing about both these guys is they are tough and are exciting to watch. Should be good.

What a prick Sulaiman is. Kirkland isn't ranked high enough but Sulaiman was generous enough to put Pacquiao/Margarito up there as contenders for a 154 title where neither fighter was previously ranked at a weight limit of 150.

This will be a good fight and the winner should get a title shot against Bundrage.

the trick for Molina is not to simply throw more, its knowing WHEN to throw.

Molina needs to be very active when they start clinching, start mugging Kirkland and touch him up while theyre grappling....it drains stamina fast.

In the meantime, Molina needs to continually backpeddle and time the right hand so that Kirkland runs into it, much like Hopkins likes to do. Even with good stamina and conditioning, Kirkland still runs into punches, which means that even light punchers can still hurt him if they hit him clean.

Back up, time the right hand, start grappling, smack him around at that range and on the break. The Hopkins treatment.

                go and get em Molina!

This might turn out to be a more technical fight than we're actually expecting. Both are tough, I see it going 12.

Molina can win this fight he he boxes with Kirk, if he thinks of trading with Kirk he's goin to sleep for sure... Molina cldn't even KO washed up Cintron at the time he went the distance, he doesn't have power in his punch...IDC what he thinks, no way his power is near Kirk's.. BUt Kirk has a suspect chin as well.. But I give this fight to Kirk, he just seems to be one of the hungriest 154 pounders out there right now.. I think he is a on a mission... I mean Anne Wolfe is a beast as a trainer, and that is huge.. She trains him like a DAWG...And we saw how he trained Peritta in the last fight...

I think Molina is just too much of a boxer for kirkland.
