Shannon Briggs, the 42-year-old US heavyweight, beat Matt Greer in 23 seconds in Chester, ******ia, on Saturday night to win inside the distance for the 48th time in his career.

The veteran stopped Greer with a barrage of punches just after the start of the fight. The former WBO champion improved his professional record to 54-6-1. Greer's fell to 16-13, including 13 shortcut victories.

Eddie Chambers, 32, stopped Carl Baker in the third round in Leeds, England.

Chambers recorded his 21st win inside the distance and moved his record to 39-4 against an opponent who had won 10 and lost eight times in his career, stopping seven of his opponents.
