They gave it to Ali.

I look for outstanding fighters and especially follow their progress !

I didn't watch boxing that much do to my work back in the late 90's and early 2000's.

I tried to stay up a little bit.

I remember the Old fights,, the heavyweights from Patterson, Johanson sp and the GREAT and TERRIBLE SONNY LISTON !!!!! Guys like Cleveland Williams, ect... the Ali and when Frazier came on the scene just way to many to name. Foreman Norton,, Holmes

Sugar Ray Leonard , Thomas Hearns Roberto Duran, all in their beginnings on TV,,,,,Wilfred Benitez sp,, oh yeah a tremendous fighter with the reputation of not training for the fights cause he was just a natural.

I have left out tons of fighters. I have watched boxing sitting on my daddys knee in the 50's , Friday Nite fights, didn't miss .

All the 80's fighters, and the rivalry's , that insued , just great boxing ! I have jumped over chairs hollaring for my guy to win, and running everyone out of the room that talked during the fight !!

I still love great fighters,,,,ODH won the Tito fight but they gave it to Tito, but ODH didn't have that tweak that made you such a great fighter, cause in that fight he let up the last three rounds. You could see it in other fights.

You never saw Holyfield let up unless it was in the last years.

I have chosen who I like and why, Jr don't fit that bill, I think based on all I have watched in my life he is a JOKE.

Pac don't have his skills, but Pac has shown game , he fights , he can knock you out and he won't QUIT.

I think he can get to JR. I can be wrong , I just want to see the dang fight.

I don't know fam. Margarito could have possibly cheated back then and on top of that as soon as he fought someone that was good enough (Paul Williams) he lost. Not to mention having trouble with Daniel Santos at 147 and 154. Oscar at 154 was a more dangerous fight than Margarito at 147.

Miguel Cotto? I think the only thing that sold people on Cotto is that he was entertaining when he fought but he also took alot of unnesscary punishment and almost got put out on several occassions by guys not even close to Mayweather's skill set. Cotto was open for the big shots all day and could not adjust technically to win. Cotto also would get discouraged when his punch wasn't effective or if he was pressured. Honestly, I feel Cotto would have been KO'd if he fought Mayweather. I wanted to see the fight too when they were both undefeated but lets be real.

Arum didn't want Mayweather to fight Cotto at 140 so how could he have ducked a fighter that wasn't ready for him at his original weight class where he was a title holder, while Floyd just moved up from 135 to 140? Lets keep it real. Cotto got hurt by Zab and was back peddling from Mosley. Wasn't like he completely shut them guys out and Floyd was and always has been technically better then them two. Inorder to beat Mayweather you have to outhink him. People say a jab but even that didn't work in the De La Hoya fight. He didn't stop throwing it. Oscar paid everytime he did. Can't believe people think Oscar won that fight. His face didn't look like a face of a winner. Juan Manuel Marquez did though.

in the case of Margarito, you are right in that there is always that possibility of him cheating to get to the top. anyway, its moot now since its obvious that Margs is no longer viable as a serious opponent.

in cotto's case, you are also right in that he gets discouraged when he notices his punches aren't taking an effect. but that was not the cotto we saw fighting Margarito lately. IF (and that's a big IF) cotto would be able to focus on his gameplan and keep his cool in his fight with floyd, i could very well imagine him giving floyd some trouble.

one thing is for sure, cotto would be a way more viable opponent for floyd than Ortiz!

i think floyd would get a decent ppv (definitely over a mil) should he fight cotto.
