    HELL NO

    1. Sergio Martinez
    2. Dmitry Pirog
    3. Gennady Golovkin
    4. Grzegorz Proksa

The beasts from the east are taking over the middleweight division.

Quillin is not even top 10 yet, and Quillin would beat the crap out of that hype job Chavez Jr. Andy Lee would beat Chavez Jr, Pirog would beat Chavez Jr. Geale, Sturm, Murray, Rubio would beat Chavez Jr. Damn a BS stoppage win over Manfredo got people thinking Chavez Jr is the SECOND best Middleweight? Please...How about you fight Sergio Martinez already.

i guess you have to look at the quality or quantity of opponents they have faced as pros, and putting chavez jr, proksa, golovkin, pirog, and quillin into a mix, i'd have to say chavez would be on top if not close to it, since i think proksa's dismantling of slyvester beats out a close decision to zbik. but all, and i mean all humiliate and stop chavez jr imo. all these guys need to start fighting each other though (martinez, geale, and sturm included).

          TOP 5 IMO.....

          Martinez is obviously #1

from there it gets murky......Sturm is the most accomplished of the rest, but that's more about longevity than quality...he has barely squaked it in his toughest tests(and he was the considerable favorite)...He is basically almost losing on workrate alone...i'm fairly sure chavez would beat him in similar style to the zbik fight....excpet zbik has a higher workrate than sturm, and even though sturm is a bit stronger, he is not strong enough to discourage chavez...also, you can tell Chavez was pacing himself too much vs Zbik, because he was used to having no stamina...

Macklin is too inactive and has only really faced Sturm and Sylvester....and we can all agree Sylvester sucks pretty hard....he is also Geale's and Proska's only win...but at leats Proska destoyed him.....

Pirog's competition has been a bit underwhelming since the Jacobs fight...has potential though.....

Golovkin's looked pretty bad vs Ouma, but he is a dangerous fighter...

i guess if i had to rank them right now based on potential and accomplishments, it;s have to be:

          2-Sturm
          3-Chavez Jr
          4-Macklin
          5-Pirog
          6-Proska
          7-Zbik
          8-Geale
          9-Murray
          10-M.A. Rubio

that said, i think Chavez and Pirog would beat Sturm...Macklin would have a good shot again...Proska,Golovkin and Quillin are question marks but they probably are threats for the #2 and #3, even as inexperienced as they are....

Chavez has not fought a top fighter in his career. Zbik was not a champion. they fought for the vacant WBC strap that was stripped from Sergio. I would rank Lee, Pirog, Maklin, and Sturm ahead of him. I have not seen all the other MW yet so I would rank Chavez as the number 6 MW right now. He is a pu$$y for not fighting Sergio who is his mandatory.

They basically gave Zbik a belt because he is a light hitter and they thought that prag Jr. could beat him which he did not even do in any convincing fashion.

he is the definition of a paper champ. zbik never even had a title fight. he was just given the belt(out of pity) even proksa should be rated higher than him because he has the better win(sylvester) and in much more dominate fashion. he's lucky to be in the top 10 and that's just because of his longevity in beating tomato cans.

the micro management of his career is so revealing. hbo wouldn't approve zbik as an opponent for martinez because they were saving him as an easy opponent for chavez jr so he could get a belt. now they can pretend he's a champ just like alvarez. everyone wins!(except the fans but **** them)

Its just amazing that a win over Manfredo and a controversial win over some eastern euro guy who fought nothing but cans to that point makes him at the very least a top 10 fighter in the eyes of most
