Is this the first time that 168 and 154 have both been better (deeper) divisions than 160, at the same time?
Is Chavez Jr the #2 Middleweight?

This is a really good breakdown of the MWs. Chavez is looking good as well, provided he can make weight until the SMWs move up.only one trolling is people who think he's not a top fighter at middleweight because A. they just don't like the kid B. they think he's a hype job.
no one is here saying chavez is great or even good.
but aside from sturm and martinez everyone at 160 has a crap resume.
think of all the guys you think has a better resume and go over it.
you'd be surprise.
there's like 3-4 guys whose ONLY name win is the same guy. sylvester.
zbik and manfredo pretty much tops everyone else's resume outside of sturm and martinez.Comment

Jr just doesn't look that good to me when he fights yet but the MW division is not all that scary these days, though if you move 1 class either way there's alot of happening.
I do however think he looks much more polished than 2 fights ago and 5 fights ago, etc. I like they way he is improving. Maybe I'm not givin' him enough credit.
I'd sure like for him to beat somebody substantial so I could fully jump on the bandwagon.
At this point I think Cotto beats him and Martinez beats him. Canelo probably beats him up as well though after some of the arguments I've been reading and after rethinking some of their respective fights that I've seen, I'm not as convinced of this as I was a couple of weeks ago.
I kind of think he'd beat Kirkland, El Perro, Mora.
What are some other guys around 160 he'd beat?Comment

Pick just about anyone, he has only fought bums like himself.you do know the middleweight division is filled with weak ass resumes, right? i mean, Sturm is pretty much the universal #2.....and he has a contoversial SD and a draw against his only decent opponents in the last few years....and he was supposed to win....
go on, tell me 10 fighters with a better resume than Chavez
also, dont act like zbik wasnt pissing blood after the fight... and like i said earlier, that was the first time chavez had world class conditioning, he fought the early rounds like a guy who thinks he has to pace himself....by the middle rounds, he noticed what he had in the tank and thats why he pulled it outComment
