I am sure at 154 he does have more power, just because he has more muscle. The real question should be, how is his power at 154 compared the true 154 pound fighters? The only true 154 pounder Cotto has fought was a no power, one legged Yuri Foreman. I am betting that his power at 147 compared to others at 147 is going to server him better then his power at 154 compared to others at 154.

Here is another thing to think about. Cotto wants big money fight. Who is there in the 154 weight class that would make a big payday for him? I don't see any big money fights that he is looking for in that weight class. Now at 147 you have Mayweather, Pacquiao, Berto, and Ortiz. Khan and Maidana are moving up to 147 as well. Marquez could easily fight at 140 to 147. I am betting Rios could also fight from 140 to 147. All the big money fights for Cotto are going to be at 147. If he wants a big money fight, he is going to have to go to 147.
