I don't know, I won't be convinced this fight will happen until it's signed. I think both Hatton and Floyd know thought that their fans are practically pushing them into the ring to face each other, so hopefully that will count for something.

I respect Ricky a ton but I have to take Floyd. Martin was mentioning that styles make fights and following that line of thinking I'd say that Kostya was tailor-made for Ricky. Not to take anything away from a great win, but Kostya gets in close and tries to out-wrestle you which is death against an activity man like Hatton. Floyd will be much harder to catch.

I think Floyd's power at 140 is underrated as well. Just because he wasn't his best against Corley, which was his first fight at that weight, people prejudged him. I say he has enough to KD Hatton if he managed to get his shots in right...if he's able to land his shots of course. Those short quick pops of Hatton are enough to give anyone trouble.

I dunno man... Ricky hatton did walk throw Kostya Tszyu, (Yes he did look hurt a couple of times but he never looked like he was gonna go down!).

I'm not sure that Floyd would be able to knock Hatton down.

Thats funny, all your biased self can do is reference one fight against a 40 year old champ whose been very inactive. Kind of sad.

          hmm

In my opinion, you shouldn't be in a "genuine" boxing thread, simply because you say idiotic things that no real boxing fan should believe. Your extremism borders on Manny P levels.

I also contributed my thoughts as to how the fight might go, so please do shut your trap with your false claims that I didn't contribute.

Again, why would I be in a "Klitschko is gay" thread? Just tell me since you know so much aboue me.

I'm just thinking that Floyd is able to get shots in while staying for the most part on the outside. You know, he gets in quick, does his damage and then gets back out. I know that Ricky will rush at him but as long as Floyd stays off the ropes he should be okay. A big question will be who is pursuing who. I could see Ricky trying to chase down Floyd right from the start and from there things could go either way.

If Floyd wins I think he will get a read on how to protect himself against Hatton early. You know, he'll confront him but might not get a lot of shots in. He'll protect himself and figure out how he can take the offensive. And then about a third of the way through the fight he could shift the momentum his way. That's if everything went according to plan, of course.

I think any hury he would put on Hatton would be from an accumulation of shots. It's just that some people make him out to be the Byrd of the 140lb-ers and I think that's an inaccurate assessment.

Although I am English, I hope mayweather wins.

Being a boxer rather than a puncher, that is.

I don't think Maweather is a light puncher... And he's definatly not the Chris Byrd of 140lb division!!! I think he has about the same power as Ricky Hatton.

Neither of them are particulary heavy punchers, and both use quantity to knock their opponent out.

I just get the feeling if Tszyu's right hand couldn't put Hatton down... Mayweather's wont. And Ricky hatton would be SOOOO fired up for the fight he'd running around on adreniline anyways!!!

Yeah, I was speaking about people in general, I didn't think you were too hard on Floyd concerning his power, though I couldn't quite remember for sure .

To me it comes down to probabilities. Tszyu knocks you down not with quantity but with quality. Unfortunately for him he was so tied up that the chances of him landing those one or two good shots were slim. With Floyd he will be throwing much more and therefore even if he has similar trouble more shots will be landing, and therefore his attack will be more effective.

btw the way Hatton throws reminds me a lot of Canadian Billy "The Kid" Irwin. Obviously they're miles apart in terms of talent but Billy used those same short, sharp punches.
