i dont think he'l be able to handle a really bad cut...i think he pulls a robert guerrero or alexander if it happens.....fighters with courage issues like jr have this tendency....
Curious to see how Floyd would handle being cut.

I think that this is something that consistently gets overlooked. And if Mayweather get's cut badly, no it won't effect him mentally.
Mayweather's a 15 year veteran. He's at a stage where pretty much nothing will effect him mentally. Especially not a cut.
He's had cuts, broken hands, injured muscles, people forcing him to fight at a faster pace then he would like, and it hasn't effected him mentally before.
It's not about to start.Comment

A lot of his early fights were Televised. I imagine due to him winning a Medal at the Olympics.
I didn't catch his early early fights but I remember I first saw him on a undercard when he was very early into his career.Comment

Let me hit you square on the chin and temple and see how much you like it.I think his mindset is alot different from then till now though. Back then he was young and knew he had a rough road ahead of him if he wanted to make it to the top. He was a hungrier fighter with plenty to prove. Now he's sitting comfortably at the top with an ego bigger than Mt. Everest. He didnt even like getting hit with them 2 shots in the Mosley fight. You can tell he was embarrassed by it in between rounds. He recovered quick and came back to dominate the rest of the fight, but he wasnt well with it at all.Comment

The bolded actually answers your question my man. You are talking about the most mentally fit Boxer of our era. He remains calm in the face of adversity like no other and sticks to his gameplan regardless of whats in front of him.Yes but we've all seen certain fighters change as soon as they develop a bad cut mid fight. Judah is one, and we saw what happened to Ortiz once he was cut and bleeding against Maidana. Its more a mental thing than a pain thing. In your head you're like "damn, if he keeps hitting this cut, its not gonna be good" Kind've throws your whole game off for certain fighters. You're now worried about protecting that cut moreso than executing your game plan.
Look at the Zab and Mosley fights. As his corners where extremely excited(and for the Zab fight it is safe to use the term in Complete and Utter Chaos), Floyd remained just as calm as he does in between those rounds as he does for every other round he has fought throughout his career. He has been cut before and handled the cut in the exact same manner. If he is cut again you will more than likely see Floyd motor through it as he does with everything else. You may see Floyd get his feathers ruffled in an interview, but you do NOT see them ruffled within the ring.Comment

Of course no fighter likes getting hit. What i"m saying is, Floyd especially didnt like it because he's not use to getting hit that cleanly! It took him and everyone watching by surprise and you can see it in his face that he was embarrased by it.Comment

You really think that most of this board have seen all 42 of Mayweather's fights?
The large percentage of this board weren't watching Boxing when Mayweather started fighting.
Most people that dislike Mayweather starting watching him in 2006 and 2007 onward. Do you really think these people will go back and watch Mayweather's 42 fights in which all but 1 he wins in clear fashion? No chance.Comment
