Comments Thread For: Vitali Klitschko Discusses Wladimir's Injury, Withdrawal

Vitali Klitschko has been describing the illness which forced his younger brother Wladimir to withdraw from this Saturday's world championship defense against Frenchman Jean-Marc Mormeck. The match was called off after the Ukrainian underwent surgery to have a kidney stone removed in Dusseldorf, Germany last Saturday.

Solis fight should have been a no contest. He beat the count.
Aside from that, I don't think Vitali's bird punch hurt Solis as Solis suffered that injury at the exact same time that it landed. That fight was inconclusive.

Also... how the hell does a guy with a degree in sports science develop kidney stones? Is he really foolish enough to not drink enough water on a daily basis? Wow. Idiot.

Solis was clearly wobbled and knocked out by a half uppercut/half hook counter punch. He never saw the punch coming. The temple shot fucked up Solis' equilibrium, disoriented him and made BOTH his legs turn to jelly.

          KO 1

Vitali video after his 1st round knockout win over Solis

"I was inside the ring and I saw many, many times on video - the fight, and there is only one clear answer. I prepared the punch, half uppercut/half hook. I prepared this punch and I feel that I hit him pretty hard. Solis was knocked out, what happened after that, where he breaks his ligaments or his knee - it's his problem. I'm sorry the fight was so short. The next fight, I promise not to hit my opponent for the first three rounds, and then I'll knock him out. With Solis there are no excuses, this was a knockout punch"

Unfortunately this is a lie because Solis was clearly up before ten and it was his knee that prevented him from continuing.

I'm glad you've finally come around to acknowledging OFFICIAL descisions little buddy.

It seems as though we're finally making progress.

You don't know if the punch did that or if it was the injury that he suffered at the exact same time the shot landed. There's no debating that. Period.

If it were actually the punch then I find it odd that Solis showed 100% concern for his leg and did not looked dazed or hurt at all after falling. Regardless if he were hurt or not... HE BEAT THE COUNT and it should have been a no contest. It was a fake gift victory for Vitali and he was not man enough to admit it.

Solis saved himself from a beating. Yes it's too bad he couldn't continue for whatever reason, way it goes. Vitali would have smashed him anyway.
