So because Cotto lost to PAC he isn't elite? Marquez lost to PAC twice and Mayweather but he's still keeps his elite status though right? Cmon know what you talking about before you post .. Cotto IS an Elite fighter period

And you are dreaming if you think Pac would have knocked Clottey out if he had opened up. What a silly fanboy assessment of that fight.

For the most part, Clottey CHOSE not to fight back, in spite of being successful when doing so. When he let Manny off the ropes in round 6 (?) after out-punching him, and backed up to the center and gloved up so that Pac could open up again..... it looked like a well-rehearsed sparring exhibition.

If you think his performance justifiably earned him a bonus, then you only watched one guy that whole fight..... like most *******s.

I am pretty sure that Pac was clean when he fought Marquez. Despite having "his best camp ever", Manny was a few pounds lighter than usual, he was not as ripped as usual, he did not appear to have the same confidence as usual, and he did not appear to have the same fire as usual.

You'd literally have to dream about fighting Pac every night for several years to give him the same amount of trouble Marquez did.

Cotto currently has a pretty decent corner. He has always been able to correct the mistakes that contributed to his past defeats. In rematches he has always found the way to victory. Back in 2004 Cotto bet Kelson Pinto when they were both undefeated (Kelson is tall like Margarito and had previously bet him in the amateurs)... With his new trainer Cotto's stamina has and will continue to improve. At this point Cotto feels very confident he can beat Pacquiao and I agree he has a good shot at it. The fight would definitely generate good $$$$$ revenew. Nevertheless one foreseeable problem with Pac and his team would most probably be to "again" demand a B.S. catchweight which would equal to "again" having some advantage over Cotto.

He did not actually have a trainer for the Pac fight.

He had his old cutman Joe Santiago running him through his drills.

Cotto was in much worse shape than he is now, he was highly vulnerable and ripe for the picking..... battered by Margarito/Clottey, not on top of his game, not confident, no coach, and forced to fight at catchweight.

A more confident Cotto. with a good corner, and no catchweight, beats the (seemingly deflated) Pacquiao that lost to Marquez.

I don't know Cotto could possible beat Manny because IMO, Manny isn't 100%focused on boxing these days.

Kinda like Oscar when he started his promotional company and digressed as a fighter.

I'm starting to see the correlation between Manny having subpar performances (Margarito, Mosley, Marquez) and the time he got into politics (post Clottey fight).

I am starting to see the correlation between Manny having subpar performances against any live dog who is not disadvantaged on the scales.

At 154, the fight would be competitive. Cotto did well in spells against Pac - when he tried to box him rather than go toe to toe. After the second knock down, he was running.
