Canelo vs Cotto is a tasty Fight and buisness wise it makes sense too, both guys are big draws, there is the PR vs Mex rivalry which is in full flow after Cotto vs Margs and then there is the fact Saul ****ed up Miguel's brother....

Shame Bob Arum is the scum of the earth

I cant see it either, just speculating and dreaming! Im not sure how effective Cotto would be at 147 now anyway...

Thats exactly why I can't rap my head around why people would be calling for a Mayweather-Cotto fight, Floyd ain't moving up, he already won a title at MW, and Cotto ain't beating him at 147..

Im not so sure Floyd would have a big problem doing it at 150-154.....

He HAS to be confident, Cotto has despite looking good on Sat, Been through the mill a bit...

Bob forgot about Miguels best option. Leave Top Stank and their blood money, join GBP and make some real money without having to face violent criminals who don't deserve to be on the streets let alone earning millions in the same ring his crimes were committed. Leave Top rank for your Father, Miguel. It's what he would want.

It's an interesting list of name that Arum gave, although like many have mentioned, he seemed to have eliminated everyone except Chavez Jr. I'm not really into that match-up at all. I realize it's another Puerto Rico vs. Mexico duel, but I just don't see it being a must see boxing attraction.

Canelo would make more sense since they are in the same division. I think Cotto should stay at 154, as it's a more natural weight for him. Going up to 160 to face either Martinez or Jr. would not make much sense to me, although if Martinez is willing to come down and fight him at Jr. Middle, that could be a big fight. We'll have to see what happens with the choices he makes.

As for a Mayweather fight, I have one thing to say: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! There is only one fight right now for both Mayweather and Pacquiao and that's for them to fight each other. Get that fight done for May, and when the smoke clears then other opponents can be mentioned. Although after that fight I suspect Floyd, win or lose, to take another long layoff therefore eliminating future opponents who don't want to wait around.

Cotto has options, which is a pleasant turnaround from much of the boxing public wishing he retire after the Pacquiao beating in November 2009. At 31 years old, he has a few more big fights left, and I hope he makes choices that can interest the fans and also push his legacy even further.

Why Cotto would fight Chavez? He isnt even champ at that weight. Everyone knows that is Sergio's belt. Also, Chavez comes in at night fight at Light Heavy and even at Cruiserweight. Other than having same day weight ins, I dont see Cotto taking that fight right now.

IMO, Cotto should fight in May or June Bundrage and take that title away. Then come back at the end of the year and fight Sergei for the WBO. May 2013 unified with a more mature and better known fighter in Canelo. Win or loose, great way to end his career.
