I think you're underestimating Marquez....
I see him adjusting to Morales in the mid rounds and beating him to a tough UD... or stopping him late on damage.
It would've been a great match thoughComment

Thats not the one
Carlos Hernandez and Jesus Chavez version comfortably beats Marquez IMO.
the decline started with Barrera III in a fight Morales really hated. He was not well motivated for that fight.Comment

bah. prime Morales was a near unstoppable force. Even in his last great performance when he was already fading he beat Pacquiao more one sidedly than Marquez ever did.
Marquez gets hit constantly, even against guys like Jandaeng Terdsak and a faded Casamayor, and struggled against the boxing ability of Chris John and Freddie Norwood. Morales shined more than anything else in a firefight, not to mention he had better boxing ability than both John and Norwood.
Not that I dont think it would be a great fight, Morales couldnt resist putting on a show...but I feel Morales could really be the only winner in this match.Comment

The image of Marquez being successful in countering Pacquiao who comes forward all the time MUST have stuck in to your mind.
Marquez looks vulnerable againts Cassa, JuanD, and Kats. He didnt look all too dominating as well againts Salido and the Thai dude.
Marquez will have trouble againts a boxer/puncher of Morales caliber. Morales was Superb that year ( 2004 )Comment
