You're both wrong and right. The article sucks. As someone said earlier, it's more of an attempt to vindicate Floyd for having dodged Margo than the scathing "make fun of" attempt that anybody still defending Margarito should get.

You're right in that it's pretty obvious that Margarito fans will defend him even if he admits to plaster use in every single fight before Mosley and to them the (now more than ever) questionable victory over Cotto carries more weight than the 100% legit stomping Cotto gave him.

Keep trying to get them to admit any of Margo's sins if you want, but it's obviously pointless.

Margarito demonstrated the heart of a Lion and walked through Cotto's best punches as if he were the Terminator. Also he had Cotto back tracking the entire fight. Cotto better send Pacquiao a thank you letter for the damage he caused to Margarito's eye.

This article is pretty aggressive. I don't think its cool to talk about a particular group of fans unless really necessary though.

But in terms of the actual substance of the article, everything was pretty much correct.

Just a guess.....

The writer appears to have an issue with " fans " who continue to support a convicted glove-loader. He is likely old-school, and cannot reconcile either Margarito's actions, or the actions of his fans.

Seems a bit weird but I think it's called for. If you still supported Margarito after January of 2009, you deserve this and much more. I can understand that Margarito needs to still earn a livelihood for his family. Whether I like it or not, he will still try to secure work for himself but I can't understand those who call themselves boxing fans and support him still even after he committed the biggest sin you can commit as a boxer.

I have no issue with the article. I can guarantee you all that many within the sport, regardless of being media or the one who take the punches, were in absolute glee Saturday night.

If you put geographics aside, you will see that Tony became a black eye of the sport (no pun intended). This was the fight that finally cemented (again no pun intended) his removal from the mainstream. I used to be a fan of Tony, but he took part in an unforgivable act that to me is criminal.

Good riddance to him!

A K.O is when a fighter is rendered unconscious or fails to beat the count that is a K.O a TKO is when a fighter, ref, doctor, corner man decide that a fighter cannot safely continue the bout in this case it was because of a swollen eye I didn’t see anyone get Knocked Out.

Who cares, he was deemed unable to continue and failed to finish the fight.

I don't care how many of these writers try to twist **** it is'nt going to work. Cotto did not deliver a beating to Margarito. Stop telling me I saw something that never happened. Cotto did'nt prove anaything at all. Marg was starting to seriously get to Cotto. The fight was abit different from the first. Margarito is alot more shop worn now than when they fought the first time. Cotto actually fought better than he did the first time. Cotto had time to recuperate from his beatings and Margarito did'nt. If Cotto did'nt have a target in the right eye what would he have done? They stopped it becuase it was starting to get rough for Cotto in there. Cotto's face still looked the same after this fight. I just can't believe how many fanboys that just can't observe a boxing match without being totally biased and falling into the hype. The fight was promoted with the handwraps being the bases of the promotion. All of you fell for the whole good guy bad guy thing and it's just hilarious really. You mainstream idiots please go to a different sport because your propaganda does'nt work with intelligent people.
