Guys, has anyone ever read Roldies MAAT series ?

For the uneducated, that is the "Measured against All Time" series written by Cliff Rold?

      A great read huh ?

Well, give yourselves an uppercut, because that is nothing but Cliff's personal opinion.

Now, I rate Cliff's personal opinion very highly, and I love that series..... but it is still just an opinion..... exactly like Lyle's "opinion" earlier.

All of you who stated that the article was "inappropriate", but then still decided to comment anyway need to stop for a tactical rethink.
Cliff's pieces try to be objective. Lyle's do not.

And this article was more like a rant than a piece of journalism, and Cliff never rants.

A piece like MAAT demands objectivity, but I am not too sure about that when it comes to general discussion points. I dunno, judge for yourself.....

Well, someone needed to. And it wasnt a rant, Fitz gave the finger to folks who he feels supported a guy who they know committed an unforgivable sin.

Good for him, and *** objectivity when it comes to glove-tampering.

I like a guy who calls it like he see's it, and is not afraid to call a spade a spade. He is a boxing fan after all, and more importantly, a boxing guy.

I appreciated his viewpoint anyways, it just echoed what many are thinking.

You can express your opinion and still be objective. Cliff does that, Lyle, IMO, doesn't.

I disagree that it wasn't a rant. The whole tone of the piece was just a gloating, crowing, "up yours" tone. Saying that what Margarito did was unforgivable and that fans who still support him are bad for boxing is an objective statement and lots of good journalist would make similar statements. It's the ranting tone of the article that makes it different from journalism and more like playground taunting.

As I said earlier, *** objectivity when it comes to glove-loading.

            And *** Margarito's crybaby fans.

I got no problem with Fitz saying "up yours" to people who support glove-loading, and I got no problem with him gloating because Margarito got (deservedly) dished up by Cotto.

Like Cliff said..... "The whole point is that they are opinion, whether explicitly or by angle to make one swing. Anyone who reads a column and walks away going 'that was biased' sort of missed the point"

I think you missed the point. The point is.....
"For those who do get it, hate it or love it, all valid" ~ CR.

I agree with Lyle, and you disagree with him, there is no problem there.

I don't disagree with his opinion, only with the childish tone of the article he wrote.

Fortunately our griping was just legitimized by the total blow out on Saturday! Thankfully, we don't have to look at that silly ass baby pix you've had for years. Believe me, I will find the equivalent for your ***** Margie soon enough.

                      Soon enough? Lol
People complaining over a loss in days doesn't equal to the cries you people had for years. Top it off, wait till Cotto goes up against someone at the top of their game. You guys are going to get your Kleneex once again.
