No thanks. Pac's got bigger fish to fry than some guy he already humiliated.
Cotto vs Pacquiao II

Freddy will not dare to put fight vs Cotto in even terms. It'd be a tough fight but aside from what you mention about drug testing (PED) and weight draining factor Pacquiao had going for the 1st fight we also have to remember the most important factor on that fight, Cotto trained himself for that fight.
Joe Santiago had never been in a fighter's corner for a big fight. Joe Santiago knows **** about boxing, he did what Cotto told him. With Diaz, Cotto would be much more prepared and would actually have a fight plan going into the ring.
@ 147-150 Cotto could give Pacquiao a tough fight and possibly beat him.Comment

The thing about the Margarito matchup is that Cotto himself knew what he had to correct in order to beat Margarito. The thing with a Pacquiao matchup is that, unlike in the Margarito fight, Cotto has no idea what he has to adjust to beat Pacquiao.. He said it himself after they fought, that he didn't see any of the punches coming.
So if Pacquiao reduced Cotto into playing a guessing game in that he couldn't see any punches coming, he is lifetimes away from even conceiving the thought of how to come up with a gameplan on how to beat Pacquiao.
And then you gotta also consider the facts that he has nothing to attract Pacquiao with for a fight.Comment

I think Manny gives Miguel fits again, but it won't be that lopsided a win,
especially if it's done at legit JMW, with no special weight stipulations. If
it's at WW, Cotto will get stopped, and I don't see how the fight is going
to get made upwards of WW:
After Pac-Marg, TR immediately (we're talking hours) ruled out any more
fights north of WW for Pac --because Margs had bruised Pac's ribs badly.
As it turned out, Pac was bedridden for over a week. Even Sergio knew
that Pac wasn't going up to JMW anymore when he called the little guy
out.
If somehow Pac-Cotto can be made at JMW, I'd be interested.
Certainly more interested than in Pac-JMM IV, and for the simple reason
that we would get the SAME RESULT over and over again. These two
will ALWAYS fight to a decision, which because of workrate will tend to
go to Pacquiao. The only point to doing Pac-JMM IV is $$$$$$ for the
fighters and the promoter... which is in fact the only good thing about
it, because JMM sure as hell deserves better revenue, if he can't get
the W.
Best thing that can happen is Pac-Floyd finally pushes through.
Failing that, if Pac can go north again, I'd rather he fight Sergio.
Failing that, Cotto --although Cotto could face Canelo or Chavez Jr for
less risk and almost as much money.Comment
