If Cotto leaves TR and becomes a promiotional free agent, that fight will get done very quickly. They can both pay GBP a flat fee to promote the fight and that's it, HBO will produce and it will do 1.6 million PPV's or more.

Floyd wanted Berto before Ortiz beat him so if Berto wins the rematch, there's a good chance it will be him.

Cotto/Pac are non-starters and from his comments Floyd wants no part of Khan.

      Berto is my prediction.

Martinez, Canelo, or Cotto. Let's get it!

        Or take the tests Pac!

Berto would be last resort. If Mayweather can't secure a MP or Cotto fight then Berto "might" happen, though it's just as likely they might fight Maidana in that circumstance.

If you knew anything about investing, you would know that investors invest money with the intention of making more money. If investors are willing to invest $150 million on this fight, they are doing it with the intention of making $175 million in return.

Floyd is right. They don't need investors. If a Mayweather/Pac fight generates 2 million PPV at $60 each, it would generate $120 million. If it does 3 million PPVs, it will generate $180 million. The site fee paid by the MGM grand will be around $25 million. HBO's licensing fee will be at least $10 million. The live gate will be at least $17 million. The money paid by sponsors to get their logos on the mat and mentioned during the introductions will be at least $10. This doesn't include the foreign rights or other money generating options that a fan like me doesn't know about. So, conservatively, this fight will generate at least $182 million and it will more likely be more than $200 million.

So, if the fight will generate $182 to $250 million without investors, why the hell would they need investors?
Over 1/2 the money goes to the tv and cable systems, HBO gets their piece and the rest goes to the promoters/fighters. Plus they have to invest in promotions, advertising, etc.

So if they keep say 40% of $182-$200, that's $36.4-$40 per fighter. That's slightly more than they make for fighting their usual competition.

Now if investors promise them $50-$75 million risk free, with some PPV upside... how do you figure going at this without investors would be a good idea?

Problem is, you idiots listen to everything Floyd says like it's Gospel without realizing that Floyd ALWAYS gets investors for his fights. Prime example:
Mayweather, who sometimes shuffles people in and out of his circle, had been going around, trying to find a huge guarantee for a fight to come back with. After some unsuccessful meetings, he was able to convince a group that included rappers Jay-Z and 50 Cent to put up a guarantee of $42 million for a fight with Ortiz. The deal was that the group was to get back the first $47 million, aside from the percentages that HBO and the cable carriers were taking out of the pay-per-view.

However, that guarantee was made on the basis of some assurances about the prospects for foreign revenue that didn’t turn out to be valid, so the rappers dropped out.

And when public pressure began to mount, your god pretended again that he wants Pac.

I don't need to show you a link. You spend all your time on this site and on this message board, so you have seen the stories and the videos where Floyd is calling out Pac. The problem is that you don't want to believe it because it does not suit the fantasy world in which you live.

I challenge you to show me a linke where Floyd or anyone from GBP have been quoted as saying they are negotiating a fight with a Mexican on May 5. This does not include the speculative, unconfirmed garbage written by Michael Marley or the Filipino bloggers that pass themselves off as journalists. The truth is coming out and piss ants like you don't like it.

The first negotiation broke down because Pac and Arum walked away from the table, but you still choose to blame Floyd because of his long vacation.

The fact is that the fight is on the table for May 5. If Arum wants it, he can begin negotiations. He doesn't have to wait until after Christmas. He doesn't have to talk to investors first. He has not spoken to Mayweather's advisor or promoter about the fight. Floyd admits this. Arum admits this. The only people gullible enough to believe that Arum is not holding this fight up are people like you!
You say that Manny walked out but forgot to mention why .... because Floyd team accused Manny of taking PEDS and demanding OST or there is no fight.

During the long vacations, it seemed like Floyd fans never even heard him say that (he was taking a long vacation) and kept blaming Manny for the delay.

So are you saying that, recently, there were no discussions about this fight? Then how did Manny's side get to know BEFORE Floyd stated it that Floyd's side requested that the defamation suit would have to be cleared?

Remember that Floyd also said, that there were no talks with Ortiz then soon after, the fight was on.
