If Arum blocks Mayweather-Pacquiao in May 2012, who do you want Floyd to fight next??

I was talking about all these random private investors that Arum constently says he's talking to about the fight, but then Floyd and his camp have no knowledge if this or that what so ever. And I was also talking about how Arum is bullshi**ing everyone saying Schaefer and Golden Boy won't be involved, when Floyd already called BS on that a couple days ago.
Do you seriously believe that Arum is looking to make the May-Pac fight??? Hey, I think Pac wants it, Arum doesn't. And, unfortunately, it seems Manny does what Arum suggests or advises, at least lately.
Like Floyd, Schaefer, Ellerbe, Oscar, Haymon, all continue to say "Cut the bulls**t Bob, and lets make the fight".
B) Who gives a **** what Oscar or Schaefer say, they're not Floyd's promoters. He is not under contract with them and as things are playing out, there is absolutely no need or use for them. Floyd would basically be paying them a fee to do absolutely nothing. Plus, are we talking about the same coke-binging Oscar who last summer said contracts were close then turned around and said he was 'misquoted'... in a video interview?
C) Floyd said 'sign the contract'. Ummm, if there's no negotiations, then how can there be a contract. He's now saying he can't negotiate or talk about the fight until after the defamation suit is cleared up. So much for 'take the test, then we got a fight' huh?
'If you the best, drop the defamation suit'... that's gonna be the slogan for the next vacationComment

U mean if floyd find another excuse to stop the fight from happening then i hope floyd doesn't duck cotto this time around.Comment

So first it was, Manny has to take OST or else there is no fight ....
Then if Manny doesn't agree to OST with no cutoffs then there is nothing to talk about.
.... and Floyd fans went along with that.
Now that Manny has appeared to agree on the OST matter, Floyd is now saying "there is absolutely nothing to talk about until his defamation lawsuit is cleared up"
What? I thought that he really meant it when Floyd said:
- Manny you are next!
- We have a date (May 5th) and location (MGM)
- I'm ready to sign .... and Manny better sign the next day.
Manny has responded to all those 3 points (above) in a positive fashion.
So what's up Floyd? Why are you saying that there is absolutely nothing to talk about until his defamation lawsuit is cleared up?Comment

A) Al Haymon never says anything to the media. In addition, the investors from the Falcon Hawk Group said they placed a call to Haymon directly with their offer after having talks with Floyd and Koncz representing Manny (they confirmed that the meeting at Floyd's gym was more than just a random photo op, they said issues like the defamation suit being possibly dropped was discussed).

We got one thing from Pac's camp and another from Floyd's camp on the meeting in Vegas between Floyd and Koncz, so that's another "Who do you believe?" issue. It's very likely that negotiations are on-going between Floyd and Manny, but all we hear from Arum is that he's talking to investors and that Floyd is most likely doing the same, and that they won't start anything until after the holidays. So, how can you be negotiating with Floyd and his camp, if you are that busy and won't discuss anything until after the holidays.
For what it's worth, I still always have thought Pac and Floyd want the fight, Arum doesn't. I don't see how anyone who's in their right mind could think that Arum wants the fight for Manny. Also, who ever Floyd and Pac fight next, I hope Floyd fights either Pacquiao, Martinez, or Cotto, or that Manny fights Floyd, Bradley, or the Berto-Ortiz II winner or something.
I don't hate Pac and constantly try to bag on him, like so many other Pac lovers constantly do to Floyd. I am just saying, if Bob wants the fight, sit down with Schaefer, Ellerbe, and Haymon, and make it happen. And if Pac wants to do the tests finally, then it shouldn't be a problem to sit down with them. I just hope we don't get the whole "We offered this or that to Floyd, and he refused", all the while they had another fighter signed to fight Manny (remember Antonio Margarito in 2010, said he'd agreed in FEB 2010 to fight Manny in NOV 2010, so how the hell were they trying to make a Floyd fight happen?).
Also, no vacation or time off, Floyd's coming back May 5, 2012 and he has the venue set and ready, sit down Bob and make the fight.Comment

The obscure comment Floyd made about the defamation suit, which, for all we know, may have been said just to get rid of Michael Koncz, is not the story here. The story here is that there are no negotiations taking place for a Mayweather/Pacquaio fight. Arum has been lying or misleading gullible people like you and the *******s for weeks. He has lied to Pacquaio, leading him to believe that negotiations are almost complete.
Mayweather called Pac out and said he wants to fight Pac on May 5. There is absolutely no excuse not to negotiate the fight since it is what Pac wanted and the fight Arum claimed he negotiated twice without success. The truth is coming out. Arum is being exposed and *******s like you, who have been claiming for two years that Floyd was ducking Pac, are burying their heads in the sand because they can no longer twist the truth -- which is that Bob Arum never intended to put Pacquaio in the ring with Mayweather.Comment

Well, Arum already said they'd drop the lawsuit, so that shouldn't be a problem. And I think Floyd will still go through Golden Boy for his fight with Pacquiao, same as he did with Marquez, Mosley, and Ortiz. Why is it alright for Arum to try and block them out, when Floyd already sent word to Ellerbe and Haymon to tell Schaefer to get him the biggest fight out there and with Manny Pacquiao.
The Bold- Those guys were all under contract with GBP when Floyd fought them, so obviously he had to deal with GBP in order to make those fights. Pacquiao is not a GBP fighter, Arum would be gathering the money and putting the show together... so where does Schaefer fit into all this? What need does Floyd have for them and what would he be paying them for?

Floyd wants the lawsuit dropped BEFORE negotiations begin. Meaning, Pacquiao would have to take his word that he won't wait till the case is dropped and then go on to fight Morales or Canelo like he's been planning all along. The only sensible way to accomplish this would be for Floyd to sign the contract with a clause that says once he does then the suit will be dropped. Floyd's way=a ploy to get out of paying Pac $5-10 mil and being forced to publicly apologize.
The Bold- Those guys were all under contract with GBP when Floyd fought them, so obviously he had to deal with GBP in order to make those fights. Pacquiao is not a GBP fighter, Arum would be gathering the money and putting the show together... so where does Schaefer fit into all this? As with the negotiations last summer, we have Pac's side saying they're ongoing and Floyd's camp saying they're not (after saying he's ready to sign the contract ASAP... though no talks are ongoing)... and like before we have an independent and neutral source backing up Pac's side. Last year it was HBO (and GBP before they changed their stories and were 'misquoted' after Floyd announced his 'vacation'). So how do you explain the neutral parties saying that talks are ongoing and offers are being made? Did Arum pay HBO and now the investors to lie on his behalf?
Now ask yourself- If he intended to fight Pacquiao, why would he set a date and venue 2 weeks before Pac-JMM happened?
Seriously think about that and the implications before posting again.
Also, you talk about an outside source confirming this or that....what about the federal judge that mediates negotiations with Floyd and Pac, contacting Ellerbe and Schaefer that Top Rank are not interested in making a Floyd fight, and will instead pursure a 4th Marquez fight???
http://www.espn.co.uk/boxing/sport/story/121596.html
Also, HBO was reporting that negotiations were on-going with Floyd and Pac in the summer of 2010, at the word of Top Rank. But again, I ask you, how were they negotiating with Floyd in July 2010, when Margarito already agreed 5 months earlier in FEB 2010 to fight Pacquiao in NOV 2010??? How is that possible??? Did they agree with Margarito, and then planned to back out of the Margarito fight, or were they blowing smoke the whole summer???Last edited by 4Corners; 12-04-2011, 11:11 PM.Comment
