There was no close decision, no controversy, no early stoppage. No need for a trilogy. There was a need for a rematch the first time because Cotto had never got busted up with punches like that before, and Margarito's next fight exposed his cheating ways. Which raised doubt that it was very likely the reason why Cotto got so cut up. No proof Margarito had his hands packed in plaster that night, but worth a rematch to find out.
