Cotto was hurt several times

They almost stopped the fight the round before but gave Margarito 1 more round, so there goes your they jumped in out of nowhere to stop the fight excuse/theory.

Also Margarito wasn't gaining momentum, Cotto was gaining it. Look at the fight again, it was Cotto that was coming forward and pushing Margarito back to the ropes to exchange on the inside. Cotto CHOOSE to do that in several parts of the 9th round. I suspect Cotto felt Margarito weakening/breaking and decided to capitalize on that.

Look at the Mosley vs Margarito fight again. Mosley also felt Margarito weaken in the later rounds and started coming forward and putting Margarito's back against the ropes and trading with him too. That was about 2 rounds before he finally TKO'd Margarito.

I'm not making excuses, i wanted the fight to go on.
Win or lose, this is no doubt Margarito's last fight. He is damaged goods, let him finish on his shield.

Anyways, you guys were so convinced that Cotto got this regardless, why so opposed to letting margarito continue? Doesn't the "cheater" deserved the beating?
The beating that Cotto got in their first fight is greater than the damaged eye that margarito got this time.
There were no payback here, he won like he was supposed to like the first fight.

Cotto took the piss outta him imo, i was laughing throughout the fight that's how embarrasing it was.... Cotto wanted it to go on you could see it in his eyes at the end of the fight he wanted to hurt Margs more...

I dont know I saw it another way. When they stop the fight cotto looks relief, there was no anger shown or disappointment that the fight was stop. Cotto gave Marg a beating but u can't denied mid to the round the fight was stop cotto was getting pressure and it looked like the first meeting all over again. I'm not gonna lie if the fight goes on I think Marg would have stop cotto or cotto could have punish that eye more, so it was a risk, good stoppage and good win for cotto.

I wanted Cotto to win and he did, but yes, there were times where Cotto was holding on and backing away, and it instantly gave me flashes of the first fight and my instinct was, Cotto is in trouble again.

You can't denied the fact that Cotto was hurt several times though.

But alas, the results tell another story.

I thought that too when he would hold on, but then remembered he held on alot for the mosley fight. The more i thought about it, the more i thought he looked like the cotto in the mosley fight than a hurt cotto.

Im sure the punches didnt feel good, but i dont think he as ever really hurt. Cotto dominated him to the point that marg needed a ko in the last rounds to win, and i just didnt see a ko happening. Margs left eye as gone, and was still getting hit with hard shots, and cotto was still boxing beautifully.

Cotto felt Margarito's power in the 3-4th round and began back-peddeling.

He back peddled from round 1....not because 'margs power'

But in order to win the fight, he couldnt let marg hit him with anything, cos he knows marg has the stamina to go 12 rounds at full throttle....

He took margs best things away from him by boxing smart...turning him...smothering him so he cldnt let his hands go....

wtf....His face was fine, of course your gna have red marks etc....he had no swelling at all like he normally gets after taking hits.. There is no way even if cotto started getting hit, he was gna quit in those next 3 rounds... not a fkin chance....especially since hes got his dad to fight for....an even more reason, and the fact he won every round up till the end....

lol the one legged hebrew Foreman had Cotto in more trouble than Margarito. Props to Tony though for always coming to fight. I wouldnt mind watching him and Mayorga fight.

I do not believe so, Margarito was the 1 slow to get off of his stool. Cotto was ready & standing most of the time, he wanted it bad!!
