Best fighter ever? There's nobody on this planet that can't make a good case for that statement. That has the be the funiest thing i've heard in years. Anyway, Cotto looked superb in this fight. His footwork was outstanding and was clearly better then any of his previous fights.Comment

Cotto did what he needed to do to win tonight. He made the subtle adjustments necessary to prevent the same damage he took in the first fight, i.e., tying up Margarito's arms and pushing him back, basically being more physical with Tony and moving away from the ropes, spinning back to the center of the ring. And he targeted the damaged eye; Tony was up against it last night.Let's end this ignorance now:
1) Shane Mosley is to receive any credit you'd want to give to anyone else. Castgate started with him, and he beat Margarito senseless.
2) Don't undermine Cotto. Many doubted him, myself included, but he whooped a$$ tonight. Perfect gameplan and awesome execution- he fought a fight I didn't believe he was capable of fighting. Cotto looked great tonight and deserves all praise, regardless of what anyone thinks Margarito's condition was.
I just think Tony deserved to fight through the next three rounds. Cotto was not hurting him, he had a good 9th round and appeared to be picking up the pace. Not saying he would have turned it around, but we all know Cotto tires late and that's when they decided to stop the fight. But big props to Cotto for doing what he had to do. He busted up Margo's eye like he said he would and got his revenge.Comment

thank pac for the stoppage? lol oh yes, how could i forget that pac man trained cotto and showed him how to properly execute his game plan and beat margs. ur just as ignorant as the rest for sayin that! The only damage done to Margarito's face was around the previously damaged eye.
Cotto's face was again starting to show the damage done by Margarito, slightly less than the first fight, but then again, they were using 10oz Everlast tonight as opposed to 8oz Reyes.
There were three rounds left in the fight. Tony was coming on strong like he did in the first fight; Cotto was starting to wilt, again. That was a strategic stoppage by the heavily pro-Cotto NY commission.
I would say there should be a Trilogy fight, but Tony's eye will not hold up anymore, in any fight for that matter. He needs to call it quits now.
Awesome first three rounds by Cotto BTW. Very impressive.Comment
