PLEASE those of you that says that cotto didn't win bc the doctor stop the fight or bc pac already had made the damage to the eye.. PLEASE take a look at the first fight 1-6. Cotto was schooling margarito that night and he did it again and won.

Cotto didn't win the fight. The doctor stopped the fight. Pacquiao damaged the eye, Cotto took advantage fighting on the backstep.
Kind of a hollow victory but he showed some great skills, great speed, power and accuracy.
No one can doubt Marg's a warrior though. And although i can appreciate Cotto's qualities, fans love nothing better than a warrior.Comment

LOL are you serious? The Doctor made a recommedation to stop the fight to the Referee and he stopped the fight. There were two doctors ringside and both said stop the fight BOTH. You want them to let Margaritto go blind or something? To that point he wasn't doing **** in the fight anyway. Eye or no Eye, It was looking pretty much looking like a continuation of the first 6 rounds of their first fight. Cotto fought smarter and this fight would of been pretty much a shutout for Cotto. Right by having bigger gloves, a Puerto Rican Dr to save him, I havent rewatched the fight yet and I will say Miguel was out boxing Margarito no doubt, it was round 9 at the time of stoppage I had given tony two rounds that 9th became Tonys round and in the 9th round I saw the fight starting to shift as it did the first time.Originally posted by JMM001 View Post

Cotto was given this win, yes he was ahead on points, but there is no way that fight should have been stopped, it was not like Tony couldnt see Cottos punches and was just eating shot after shot.
NY helped Miguel period and as a Rican his antics regarding richardson as a last min surprise I am embarrassed to even share the same ethnic background wishing I had a blood transfusion

Zook, the fight was getting worse. Cotto was gaining a tremendous amount of momentum before the stoppage. I agree that I don't think they should've stopped it. But I'm only agreeing because I wanted Marg to take his 12 round beating like a man; which he was right on track for that before the stoppage.
Re-watch the fight and you'll see that Cotto was landing heavier and heavier shots as the fight went on. If Cotto would've opened up like Mosley did, Marg wouldn't have seen 12.Comment
