Got to admit that Rios made me a believer!!! I criticize him hard, I do believe he needs to move up and fight people his own size, he's a very entertaining fighter but what I saw really impressed me. This guy looked like a zombie yesterday a dead man walking and throws over 1000 punches in 10 rounds? and KO a decent fighter? WOW!!! this kid really has balls!!! Now he needs to learn how to move his head and sharps his defense, now he'll be fighting fighters that will take his punches and will hit harder....but great performance!!! and yes I'm Borica...I don't hate on Mexican, just he CHEATS!!!
BULL**** statement. The man should issue a public apology to British people asap.
I would like to hear his reasons for making such a ridiculous statement. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if David Haye's toe has something to do with it.
I've noticed a lot of people talking about Murray's defense, which is fair enough really, as it's been said quite a lot in the past that he has always made life difficult for himself in that regard, taking punches that he doesn't have to whilst grinding someone down.
A couple of people have already mentioned the claims of Rios not eating for days and that they don't believe it to be true, well as with anything else you hear through the media, I am also a little bit dubious....however, Rios looked absolutley terrible at the weigh-in, that much is certain. Like everyone else who has ever been in boxing, I've seen many fighters drop weight drastically, particularly in the days of same day weigh ins....but I have to say that Rios looked as bad as anybody I have ever seen as a result of cutting weight, so even the stories weren't true, there is no doubt in my mind that he must've been taking some drastic measures somewhere down the line.
As I said before....IF the stories were true of him not eating anything for days are true, then someone has to have a serious look at the people around him during his training camp, because not only is that very dangerous, but it is something which should not be happenening especially in the modern era of strength and conditioning experts and nutritional experts. If Garcia was aware of this also, then you have to wonder about his value as a trainer for allowing such a thing to happen these days.
