By Clive Bernath: According Pascal Collins, the advisor to Irish heavyweight Kevin McBride, the Mike Tyson conqueror will not face British and Commonwealth champion Matt Skelton at the Excel Centre in London's Dockland on December 10.
A reliable source contacted the SecondsOut offices earlier today with a rumour to the aforementioned , now it appears the rumour is well founded. Collins told PA that he now plans to get McBride a warm-up fight in Boston, Massachusetts before hoping to strike a deal with promoter Don King to challenge WBA champion John Ruiz providing the American retains his title against mandatory challenger Nicolay Valuev in Germany next month

Matchroom Sport has announced that their show in Dagenham on November 18 will go ahead after all. The show was originally called off when local favourite Nicky Cook pulled out injured but the show now goes ahead with Barking's Marc Callaghan headlining against an as yet unknown opponent for the vacant Commonwealth featherweight crown.

Scot Harrrison, who retained his WBO featherweight crown against Australian Nedal Hussein last weekend, has rejected claims that he is to move up to super-featherweight because he can no longer make the 9st limit. The 28 year-old has in my opinion, struggled in recent title defences due to being tight at the weight. But Harrison insists he knows his own body and has no plans to move up just yet.

After just 13 fights Manchester's Andy Morris claimed the vacant British featherweight title by virtue of a clear 12 round points win over Scot John Simpson on Saturday night. All three judges scored for Morris by 118-111 117-111 and 118-110.
