    Complete bullshit.

Margarito to this day, still hasn't had a victory over a ranked Junior-Middleweight, Mayorga at least has one.

And BTW, it completely slipped my mind that Margarito had a victory over Sergio Martinez, so yeah, you win.
piccarilo wasn't even in the top 10 when mayorga beat him and margarito would have a win over a top 10/belt at 154 against daniel santos but he was robbed.

He wasn't ranked top 10 by the ring, but he was ranked in the 3-5 range by the WBC if i remember correctly. Plus, consistently ranked in the top 10 at Welterweight for several years, and was also considered the #1 Junior-Middleweight in Europe when Mayorga beat him.

Btw the Mayorga got robbed against Spinks. Had no less then 8 "slips" in that fight. Pretty good time to slip when Mayorga is mobbing on you non-stop.

Non-prime Mayorga gave Mosley a close fight, till Mosley ko'd him in the 12th, if my memory serves me right.

Mayorga beat Vernon, twice. In a spectacular fashion, I might add.

However, he lost against ODLH and Tito. Non prime version also lost against Cotto.

Prime Margo beat and undefeated Cintrón, undefeated Cotto, and sort of undefeated Clottey. Lost against Santos at 154, and against Williams at 147. Non-prime Margo, well, you know. Caught trying to cheat with Mosley.

              Too close to call.

the 2nd fight wasn't spectacular since it was a debatable decision but mayorga did duck margarito even though he was ranked #2(forrest was still 1 after the debatable decision) and instead fought spinks. i don't remember the mayorga-spinks fight so i can't comment on if it was a robbery but santos-margarito was a robbery.

margarito's dedication/longevity is far superious to mayorga's. he "lost" to santos but came back and became a top contender. he lost to williams and came back and became the top welterweight. he might even come back to beat cotto and be a top fighter again. mayorga lost to spinks and he's picked up a couple decent wins here and there but he's never become a top contender since.

The problem with assessing Margo's career is that he got caught cheating. His dedication/longevity is indeed far superior to Mayorga's. But I don't know how long the whole calcium/sulfur thing went on, regardless of who did it or who was aware of it being done. And after that problem, his career has fell hard. If he beats Cotto again, he will get much respect back.

Mayorga doesn't have that Mosley power. Margarito would tear him down.
