Castillo DID beat him. And he did it with a lot of pressure and rights to the body. I know, Floyd was injured, but that doesn't justify JLC not getting the decision. What a beast Castillo was.
My thoughts on how to beat Floyd Mayweather

Father time, moving up too high in weight, or a perfectly timed and placed punch are the only things that beat Floyd Mayweather. Shane got him with the right by flicking to the body twice in round two and it never happened again. Shane, by all accounts a big puncher, hit Floyd with his best shot too.
As for Judah and Corley, each got him with a few right-hooks early on. As time went on, he took that punch away from both fighters. Check this video out, it breaks down how he nullified the southpaw hook:
As for body punching, you don't see too many fighters willing to risk leaving themselves open up top to make a serious enough commitment to it. I'd have to see it attempted before I'll buy it as something that'd be effective. The JLC fights were 10 years and 2 weight classes ago.Comment

Kostya Tyszu or Julio Cesar Chavez.
I think Chavez would have beaten Mayweather, not so sure about Kostya.
I agree, Mayweather's ability to adapt so well will very likely prevent him from losing to anyone below 'great' status, unless he continues to fight on well beyond his prime.
There certainly isnt any smart pressure fighters around today at WW that could beat Floyd.Comment

head movement so he can't time you with the right hand.
If Ortiz won 3 outta 4 rounds without any head movement, just imagine what he could've done if he did move his head. You don't have to worry about floyds power, There are fighters at 140 that hit harder than floyd ever has or could. Just bob and weave your way in and throw combinations and floyd gets KTFO. The philly shell defense is also known as ***g0t boxing for a reasonComment

Not easy to beat Mayweather. As you say, he adapts very well to his opponents.Comment

Mayweather had the toughest fights of his career against Castillo, who was Chavez's sparring partner and (although a very good fighter) definitely inferior to Chavez. Chavez had bead body punches, better defense, better at cutting off the ring, and definitely better at putting combinations together fluidly to the body and to the head.
You can make a pretty damn strong case for Chavez beating Mayweather.

And DLH used the jab to the body and right hand to the head to hurt Mayweather as late as the 11th round in their fight. Yes, Mayweather is outstanding at adapting to fights, but you cant just ignore that its a viable weapon to use.
The reason its so effectively is actually because Mayweather's reactions are almost too good. He cant help but to react to the jab and try to block it, and it leaves him open for the right hand, either by him ducking down or trying to push aside the jab with his left hand, which both leave him open for a straight right hand.Comment
