He isn't acgtuallty his promoter, although Golden Balls like to project that he is. Mayweather is independent, and has his own shell Promotion company which has never promoted anything and has no licence. At least up to lately. It boosts his ego, and gets him a few %sge poins more. Golden Balls, for a fee, handle the actual donkey work of putting a promotion on, as they ahve all the equipment and expertise, as well as the contacts

Real boxing fans know the truth and want Bob Arum and Manny Pacquiao to stop with the lies. Most Pacquiao fans could care less about the sport and just want to brag about their idol Pac. While the majority of Pac die hard fans are living a lie. In the world of reality the truth has and is being revealed. Manny Pacquiao days at the top are numbered. He had a great career but think Arum's obsession with making a fighter greater than Mayweather back fired. He thinks keeping Pac away from fighting Floyd and inhouse has helped him. Maybe it did money wise but it hurt Pac's image. Bob Arum controlled Pac like he wanted to do Oscar and Floyd. If Pac fans really loved him, then they would stop believing the nonsense, speak up and reach out to Pac and express that he should not allow Arum to hold all the cards. Juan Manuel Marquez was/is Manny's biggest obstacle in so many ways. He showed how phony Pacquiao's really was/is. Beating all them bigger guys only to get beat up by a lil , older guy moving up in weight and get a gift decision.

Arum hater? Not really, but I have come to despise his antics though, and I've always been expressive of my opinion on his ridiculousness. He does come out with a lot of continuous nonsense, as I suspect a large majority of the promoters out there do today.

When he says things like 'May is out, June is better for Mannys eye' (paraphrasing), it sounds like utter and obvious foolishness IMO. I could see there being a difference in healing time if it was 2 versus 3 months - but 6 and 7 months? He so often says things like this that he brings a vast amount of dislike upon himself to my thinking. This is only 1 instance in a multitude of B.S. as to why I'm vocal in my opinion of him in a negative way.

Well, you don't have to suspect it, you can see it, whenever they are in the news. It's just that Arum is in the news as much as the lot of them put together. He's almost like a Head of State, and IS the head of a global organisation, putting on hundreds of shows a year, probably not a minute of peace all day with phone calls from all over the world all asking the same sort of things as well as keeping a good eye on his everpresent enemies. As for the "cut eye" business, It was reported by the doctor to be a very bad one.

So I don't think it was nonsense, but a quick, get-it-out-of-the-way answer to a point that he has absolutely no knowedge about. That's to do with Pacquiao's doctor and camp, not Arum. What he doesn't want to do is appear to fall-in with Mayweather's chutzpah in ostentatiously booking the MGM for "the biggest fight around" and later " the little fellah", -both incidentally announced only by Ellerbe, not Mayweather, both of whom are far more open liars than Arum-........ (I haven't seen any confirmation of this from MGM anywhere yet) and commit MannyP to Mayweather's arbitrary schedule. That would take days and weeks of discussion, depending on lots of things. Pacquiao has his own schedule, and Arum could say a hundred different things and have them all changed by MannyP's own Philippino timetable.

I personally, knowing about Arum's charitable side, believe that he tries to give as straight an answer to a straight question as he can, allowing for the fact that he's a promoter, and naturally is promoting 24 hours a day. Some of the things he says get overtaken by events, turn out to be supposition rather than fact, taken out of context, but, in the upside-down world of boxing, who cares. Only the fanatical fans who mostly don't even go to the fights or mostly find free streams. Everyone is trying to outwit the other. Must be a dreadful life, at least that part of it. A scorpion pit.
