Not sure who's telling the truth of it all. But I do know this much. Mayweather usually has investment groups and backers for his pay-per-view events. Mayweather does not invest his own money into staging a show. He retains Golden Boy to run the day to day promotions to hype the event. GB only receives a flat fee for their work and Mayweather/investors retain the rest. Investors have approached both sides in the past, Mayweather and Top Rank, to get involved with this fight. It's nothing new. Investment group try to get involved with boxing events all the time. Who do you think financially backs some of these independent pay-per-view events?

People believe Floyd is going to make a deal (especially with bob arum) without al haymon and Ellerbe invloved (I'll buy the gb theory) ... This is all nothing but lies from arum and the worst part is the media won't ask him the hard questions.. Don't people realize arum has already said manny is fighting in June, he's not trying to make the mayweather fight!

I'll just wait for the facts to be posted on fighthype about all this...

This sounds weird. The whole June thing seems like a reason to avoid the fight. Why would Floyd's people say that Knonz came by the gym just to take pictures? I think they offered Floyd a BS deal and Floyd told them to kick rocks. It should be fairly easy to negotiate, split everything 50/50 OSDT is no longer an issue, pick a ring size and gloves and figure out what song you are going to enter the ring to.

Bringing investors to the gym for a photo op means squat. Furthermore, no one involved in negotiations on Mayweather's side has been contacted. You figure it out.

as it stands here is what I get out of it

Mayweather- uses GBP solely as the nuts and bolts behind his fights but has financial backing from other sources (rap moguls execs etc) to get the whole card together etc. GBP takes a flat fee for their services but is in no way shape or form Mayweather's promoter. Mayweather Promotions is not a licensed promotional outfit so this is in large part the reason why Mayweather goes through GBP

Pacquiao - IS promoted by Top Rank BUT since the business at hand involves Arum and Haymon, two staunch adversaries, Arum seemingly has offered to take on the role GBP usually does for Mayweather, in this case for Manny. He is offering his promotional company to be used by the investors to run the boxing day to day in exchange for what I assume is a flat fee for the fight and possibly his % from Manny's purse.

I think this is why both GBP and TR are at words with each other BOTH seem to want to be the team being used in the boxing capacity.

mind you this is me thinking out loud but judging from the time lines and the bitter words both Schaefer and Oscar have had at Bob it might be an accurate account

make sense...and if arum is telling the truth, it was the investor group who invited koncz to join them in a meeting with floyd. it wasn't koncz who brought the investors to floyd for a meeting. maybe ellerbe is just saying they didn't talk anything about making the fight so as not to offend gbp.
