Even Chavez Jr who I think is crap looks more improved now, Golden Boy is gonna have to step up and get him a good trainer. I was not impressed by his performance against Cintron, not one bit
I totally agree there: Alvarez is too impetuous, has poor defense and takes way too many punches in the head... He's young and doesn't realise that punches in the head take their toll over the years... His trainer should tell him not to take all those punches, but I think that he is too much in awe of his pupil and he fears to lose him, so he seconds him in everything for the fear of losing his golden calf.

If Canelo would start training with Manny Steward or Freddie Roach, within 8 years he will be the next undisputed champion and future hall of famer.

Canelo does what you're supposed to do when your opponent has no power, RUN OVER HIM.

cintron can still **** even now and at 154
the man has a lot of knockouts. early in his career he fought below WW once and fought mostly as a small jr mw, only going to 147 consistently for a run at a world title

canelo did block some more punches and move his head a bit
he also used the ring for about a minute early in the fight

he's got a lot of fights and now he's got a "world title" but he's still very young and needs time in the gym with good sparring partners to help him develop a better defense

i agree, though, if he gets in there with a real puncher he's going to have to go to war and hope he comes out on top
          he has no other options
